LUPE, KANYE & PHARRELL?

Wednesday, June 6, 2007

them.jpg

This new song really goes hard, I love it. Everybody snaps, I even love the simplicity of the production. I recieved a lot of e-mails about this song just today. I am really interested to see who’s project this goes on, Lupe Fiasco’s, or Kanye’s new album. To me, it just seems right that the 3 of them would get on a track together. I am really eager to get the production credits on this song as well. It sounds like it could possible be one of Pharrell’s productions, but I’m not exactly sure. Either way, I’m digging this song. It’s a good look for the three of them.

and for twistedbabydoll… Common and Lupe are 2 different people. Common raps about whats in the hood. Mos Def raps are more social than anything. Lupe is unique because he is a wordsmith. Common nor Mos arent really wordsmiths, they are story tellers.

Due to the fact, the beat is wack. It prohibited me from listening to the lyrics.

This beat belongs to Thom Yorke, the lead singer from Radiohead? Heard of them? He created this himself and the fellas here just rap on top of it. And no, none of this takes away from how great this song is. I posted about this not too long ago:

There is something about Lupe that I can’t put my finger on but its so very SEXY! I don’t think it’s the skateboarding. I mean Pharell skateboards but he’s not as attractive to me as Lupe. Lupe can get it, and I’m not one of those chicks who get all excited about male superstars. I rarely think they’re hot, but lupe is too fine. He’s beautiful lol. The song is cool I guess. Lupe, lupe…..:)

Is it that sad that people only listen to song to hear the beat? Come on… people who just listen to the beat dont listen to real music and neglect the true meaning of creating art such as music

had to stop and think a sec (didnt read all the previous comments) but this isnt a product of hiphop. just a Thom Yorke sample but love the effort anyway! i looked it up and this song is slated to be released on Lupe’s upcoming album “The Cool” scheduled to be released on Oct. 31, 2007.

they’re just rapping over thom yorke’s “eraser” track. i like their version, but thom makes it pop….not lupe/kanye/pharrell. thom yorke’s album is nuts and i’ve been screaming that since it dropped last year. now that kanye and pharrell like it, maybe he’ll get some attention from the urban crowd, but to give kanye/lupe/pharrell props for this track is just ridiculous….they just lifted the track from thom. they should’ve at least gave him a shout so people would know they didn’t make the track, but they didn’t….what do we call that nowadays..oh yeah, “sampling” is the politically correct word to use. checkout radiohead and see how nice thom yorke flips the vocals….dope schitt. fin.

enjoy this here, cuz this isn’t going on anyone’s album. thom yorke is notoriously stingy with the rights to his music. he doesn’t even allow it on itunes. and like the last dude said, everyone giving these dudes props like they did anything special besides rapping over a preexisting track.

@71:

Mos Def is doing a skateboard campaign in the United Arab Emirates for the children. And you don’t know how many underground rappers have fixations with anime such as MF Doom, artists featured on Throw Stones Chrome Children (which none of you fuckers probably never heard about). And Andre 3000 (mainstream) portrays anime inspired themes in his class of 3000 cartoon. Thr problem there’s not many young people that support underground rap because it’s not catchy, trendy, flashy and glamorous. I hate glamour. Glamour is poison. Natural Beauty rules.

Some people are just more eclectic than others. The more eclectic, the more one researches the better things will be! =)

I don’t simple support Lupe because he puts me to sleep. But he’s cute, I’ll give him that. Kanye — I wanna fucking kill him! And Pharrell–should just stay behind the scenes.

Then again, this is CL….

Let me just first say I’ve been listenin to this song since i first heard on the kanye mixtape. I think the sh*t is hot on several levels. It’s definitely one of those songs you gotta listen to more than once cause it’s hot(it’s freakin lupe, kanye, pharrell, and thom yorke,people. individually, you may not like one or any of them for that matter. But, collectively, they made something that is undeniably beautiful.) Also, they are really speaking some heavy stuff. You gotta really sit and listen to what they have to say and not just the OKA “child rebel soldiers” . A lot of these artists are sending a message out to the people through their songs and it seems like no one is listening and no one really cares and that’s why we’re in the state that we’re now. It’s dangerous out here…. peace
