Where are you getting your information? That’s not true. If you violate your probation, you can receive the maximum term for that crime, and it’s not 5 days by no stretch of the imagination. Understand this, she did not plea guilty to driving drunk with a suspended license, she already did that, instead, she pled to VIOLATION OF PROBATION, of which she was on for the driving drunk with suspended license. The judge did not depart from the sentencing guidelines in that state for that crime.

And why are people saying the judge is making an example out of her….how about he’s just following the letter of the law instead of treating her with the same kid gloves she’s been treated with all her life. You are talking about the crime, but Paris has already been sentenced for the crime which she pled guilty to and received a probation term. So the 3-5 days you are talking about is now not relevant.

She was sent to jail for a different crime called “violation of probation.” Paris was sentenced according to sentencing guidelines for her state for “violating her probation.” And when she violated her probation, the judge had every right and was well within his means and power to sentence her as he did. Trust…if the jail departed from sentencing guidelines, there would have been an immediate appeal. Her attorneys have no leg to stand on with that premise, so instead, they are just saying the sentence is too harsh, meaning, she was sentenced on the harsher end of the spectrum for what she did instead of on the minimal end. They didn’t expect that.

The first thing she continously did was violate probation, and she never even enrolled in the classes. Instead she said, “It’s not that serious.” But, DUI is serious. She kicks, screams and acts a fool, not good behavior. She is 26 years old, not a child, almost 30. Most people her age have done things like gotten a real job, started a family, or finished school. Paris has done non of this, so can we stop acting like she is a child? What was this judge supposed to do, continue to make him look like a fool??

The sheriff, and MANY lawyers and law experts have said that anyone/eveeryone else with a similar situation would have served either house arrest or 3-4 days of the sentence. The judge is obviously being harsher on her because of her status. After the sheriff released her on house arrest, the judge should have punished the SHERIFF and not Paris, because if I’m not mistaken, she didn’t let herself out of jail.

Vivica, Eve and Shamar might not get it as bad, because I believe this is there first DUI charge in LA county, but Nicole and Lindsey have had more than enough chances so I say the same punishments fits them.

As a matter of fact, Lindsey got pulled over last saturday June 2 for driving under the influence, and the found cocain in the glove capartment of her car guess what she was cited and givin a notice to appear no arrest not even her car towed. So yes celebs get special treatment and everybody is fed up with it.

I was upset when I heard she was released on house arrest. When I heard some of the facts surrounding the charges I strongly believe the sentence was harsh.

I AM A DUI attorney and I will admit that typically what happens when the person first gets the DUI is you try to get the charge reduced. Why, because you know there is always the temptation to want to drive. This is especially true in states where drive is an absolute necessicity. From what I have heard, when she was stopped for the DUI, her blood alcohol level was .08. The limit is .08 but you can be at .08 for having a glass of wine. In situations like that what the prosecutors normally do is reduce the charges to reckless driving especially if it is the offenders first DUI.

Okay, that didn’t happen here and she got the DUI. With the DUI you gets fines, classes, probation, etc. and a suspended license for one year. BUT at times you can be eligible for a license before the end of the year if you complete all of the classes and pay the fines, etc. From what I heard, she was eligible to get a license, she didn’t get the paper work done.

Granted, driving with a suspended license is a crime, especially when the suspension is due to a DUI. BUT, normally a person in this position (AS A FIRST TIME OFFENDER) would either have to beg beg beg and get probation reinstated and get community service, etc. OR worse case scenario maybe 10 days in jail. Not 45 days that is for sure. I know if a prosecutor were to offer me 45 days in jail, I would have immediately known this was not serious and just a strategy to negotiate for a lower sentence by starting high.

I am tore about how to feel for her knowing her sentence was harsh even for Tyrone on a street corner it would have been harsh and wouldn’t have happened. I think the better idea would have been to do maybe a weekend jail or something like that.

Good to hear from someone who knows the law, I’m wondering if they gave her this sentence because of all the accidents she been in and has laughed them off. I saw a tape of her in a parking deck backing out of her parking space, hit another car laughed it off and kept rolling…..she was wrong for that, just cause you have money and are a celebrity you can’t just do whatever you want, I hope this teaches her a lesson….spoiled little rich girl, poor thing probably can’t stand it in that cell…..long ways away from Beverly hills.
