LOS ANGELES — Paris Hilton was released from jail early Thursday due to an unspecified medical condition after serving only three days of her sentence.
She was sent home with an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet and must remain there for 40 days, according to sheriffs spokesman Steve Whitmore.
Hilton checked into the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood on Sunday night to begin serving a 23-day sentence for violating probation.
The 26-year-old hotel heiress surrendered to authorities with little fanfare after a surprise appearance at the MTV Movie Awards, where she worked the red carpet in a strapless designer gown.
The star of “The Simple Life” reality TV show pleaded no contest to a reckless-driving charge in January and was sentenced to 36 months’ probation. When she was later pulled over by the California Highway Patrol, Hilton was told that she was driving on a suspended license and signed a document acknowledging she was not to drive. She was then pulled over by sheriff’s deputies on Feb. 27 and charged with violating probation.

Doing a Bid with a Family Member
The Reason why Paris Hilton being released from Jail Early strikes a collective nerve in our community is because we all have at least ONE family member doing time.
I know I do.
The hardest part about going to see my cousin in jail is me leaving and him staying.
That moment when it’s time for you to go….
You know, that moment when you realize, that he’s not going anywhere except back to his cell.
The phone calls are difficult.
Leaving money in his commissary is challenging.
Sending him DVD’s & Magazines to keep his head up is heartbreaking.
The Collect Phone Calls & My rising Phone bills is becoming excessive
The Visits that I extend to go see him are draining me
The Letters from him asking me for emotional support prick my heart.
Wondering if he is being harassed, raped or molested keeps me woke at nights
Helping to support His family until he comes home & assisting in raising his 7 year old son is an added responsibility to my already busy life.
