I was sitting at home in my crib, all of a sudden I hear whistles blowing, & the Puerto Rican folks screaming & cheering,car horns honking,music blasting from vehicles, people walking in the street, red white & blue flags, & bandanas on strollers…my daughter was like “MA LOOK OUTSIDE THE WINDOW!”

I agree to a point with most of you. A lot of celeb. blacks do attend puerto rican parades as if they were one. However, if you’ve ever attended an African american parade in Harlem NY, you won’t find these celebs anywhere in sight and the parade itself is extremely pathetic. From the yellow school buses with african american pride banisters, to the local churches rolling down the street in cars-hoods down-painted cardboard boxes on the dashboards- stating the church their from. I consider myself black ( though I’m mixed) so I go to both and represent hard. You don’t need to be boricua to represent. Blacks and Hispanics grow-up together in NYC,like cousins…and get on each others nerves like cousins too. So its cool to show support for each other. I just think a lot of these black celebs need to represent their own, before they support others.
