Salt-N-Pepa will be focus of a new VH1 reality series.
“The Salt ‘N’ Pepa Show” will follow the duo as they attempt to reunite personally and professionally, which isn’t as easy as it may seem due to their unresolved issues and different lifestyles.
Salt, who has found God and enjoys the quiet life, is still angry about being unappreciated when they were together. Meanwhile, Pepa, who still loves to party, blames Salt for breaking up the group.
The show is expected to premiere in late 2007/early 2008.

I am actually pissed at Salt and Pepper in the way that they treated Spinderella, watch VH1 behind the music. They jipped her on their last flopped CD, and ever since they ain’t never been really cool…unlike their flaky shady azzes and Pep and her washed up azz on VH1 all of the time….Spinderella has been holding it down and has a show on satellite radio XM/Cirrus and a radio show in L.A…… I hope she don’t give up her own new found fortune for these two selfish azz heffa’s. This is why their misfortune has brought them to their own reality show, hence Pep could not keep her azz off of VH1 D-List shows!

you can call me a hater if that makes you feel better but at the end of the day i can have my opinion. i’m not saying alicia isn’t talented. the girl’s got a voice on her, plays the piano beautifully, writes her own music (and i mean actual piano notes). she’s a great role model etc. and she’s stunning. but her lyrics have never blown me away. she is much better than ashanti (OF COURSE) no denying that but everytime i listen to her music i’m waiting for her to say something profound and she never says it. personally, i tend to enjoy lyrics that make me go “whoa! how did he/she/they think that up?” or “omg that was poetic” but she doesn’t make me feel that way. that aside, i do enjoy her music and have a track or two of hers on my ipod but i am not amazed by her. but of course i would pick her over the beyonce’s, riri’s, ashanti’s, cici’s, britney’s etc (u get the drift) of the world anyday

I’m curious to see what alicia does for her next album. I’ve liked all her albums thus far and she gives a great live show! I would definitly consider myself a fan. I would like to see her sound change a little though. I’d like to see her do something more contempary and more creative. I think she’s a little too stuck in the 60′s soul sound. I’d also like to see her vocals improve a bit.

garcelle is one of the most gorgeous 40 yr olds ever…i cant wait 4 alicas new album!
Word on the street is that Alicia’s new album, tentatively titled “As I Am,” is going to be an edgier, rock/soul album. Interesting. I absolutely loved her first two studio albums and her MTV Unplugged album, so I hope she comes correct with this one.
And I know everybody has their opinion of her, even when it comes to her lyrics which I respect. But I think she is one of the best contemporary songwriters out there. No she’s no Maya Angelou, but she’s not trying to be. Personally, I adore the lyrics to her songs, especially to the songs not played on the radio.
Of course Lauryn Hill (whom I am also a big fan) is a better lyricist because she’s also an emcee, so her wordplay is always going to be on point. But, to me, Alicia has some lyrical moments that make me say, “wow” just like Lauryn. That’s just my opinion. She might not be quite on the lyrical level as Lauryn, but (to me) she’s a great songwriter. I guess at the end of the day it all comes down to personal taste.
And lastly, if you take away the music and just read the lyrics to a lot of these songs written by a lot of these respected singers and musicians, many of them are not that “poetic,” although we may see the artists as these great lyricists and poets. And I’m not just talking about today’s artists–I’m also referring to “back-in-the-day” artists. That’s why it’s called songwriting, because the lyrics are intended for song. So naturally, it’s gonna sound better with music.
OH and one more thing…Congrats for Fancie…And I’m tempted to watch the Salt-N-Pepa reality show. Love them! I just hope they include Spin at some point in the show.

I’ve been attracted to other races but there is nothing like a Black man in my eyes. A white man cannot and never will know me, be able to identify with me on the same level. You know what’s stupid is all these assumptions that they will have these “beautiful” children because like a previous blogger noted, I too have seen some ugly mixed babies. For example and I’m sorry, but Shar Jackson’s daughter with Kevin Federline is odd looking to me. She not butt ugly but she’s not my opinion of a cute kid.
I’m happy for Garcelle, but I’m jealous. I hope I was giving her those twins. Michael is a very lucky man.

Concreteloop you have gone soft! Last year when I used to visit the site it was raw, honest and didn’t edit /delete visitors comments. But now it seems you have toned down the site content to please the “industry”. You conduct interviews and then disable the comments section. What’s that all about????
