THE ROUND UP: HOUSE OF PAYNE; ISAIAH IS ‘MAD AS HELL’; NE-YO VOLUNTEERED TO RAISE EX-GIRL’S CHILD; AKON’S LAWYER SAID HE DID NOTHING WRONG
Friday, June 8, 2007
HOUSE OF PAYNE WAS WACK!!

ISAIAH WASHINGTON FIRED FROM GREY’S ANATOMY

Like this is a surprise to anyone. The official word about Isaiah Washington and his fate with ABC was announced yesterday. Word is his contract was not renewed and he was let go.
Howard Bragman, Washington’s publicist, released this statement from the actor:
“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it any more.”
One could only imagine what he means by that. The cast was notified Thursday night of the final decision, which, says a source close to the situation, was a long time coming. In the end, the source says, Washington’s behavior made him a liability [READ MORE @ PEOPLE].
I THOUGHT THAT WAS HIS BIOLOGICAL SON!

If you’re like me, then you didn’t know Ne-Yo stepped up and decided to take care of his ex-girlfriend’s child. The singer volunteered to be the father of a baby boy an ex-girlfriend conceived with another man when the biological dad failed to stick around.
The kind-hearted star, 24, is no longer romantically involved with baby Chimere’s mother but is determined the child will grow up with a father figure.
He says,
“My son is not biologically mine, but he’s had no father but me since the day he was born.”
Ne-yo just got all his cool points back for this. I thought they were all gone after that fish picture. LMAO!
SO WAS IT REAL OR FAKE THEN??
I know you all saw that video of Akon throwing some kid into a crowd earlier this week. This happened right on the heels of another incident at one his concerts (need I say more?)
Anyway, Akon’s attorney released a statement proclaiming the singer’s innocence in the bizarre episode, caught on fans’ cell-phone cameras, in which Akon appears to grab a fan brought up on stage by security and hurl the boy into the crowd.
“Given the information that we have reviewed to date, it does not appear to us that Akon was involved in any criminal conduct whatsoever,” read a statement from Akon’s attorney, Benjamin Brafman. “We are prepared to fully cooperate with any law enforcement agency that may be investigating this incident. We are confident that after a thorough investigation it will be apparent that no criminal prosecution of Akon is warranted.’ [SOURCE]

Tyler Perry- The show is awful. Portrays black folk as a bunch of sambos. I never thought he was good at his job, but the rest of the world begs to differ. Go figure.
Isaiah- HA
Ne-Yo- stop congratulatin this man for this. This shit is a shame. His ex goes and gets pregnant by some other dude and he has to take the fall for it. I know the kid deserves a father, but damn. I can’t stand lady-lovers like this. Now his ex prolly think she can get pregnant any damn time she wants, knowing that this soft dude gon take care of the kid.
Akon- fastest burnout in the industry since Black Rob.

That is very honorable what Ne-Yo did. Mad love to him.
Isaiah Washington…no suprise there. Am suprised he mad it that long.
I don’t know what is going on with Akon. He shouldn’t do live performances though. He don’t know how to act…a lil something called home training. Its hard to teach to a grown ass man..

House of Payne was cool, it’s summertime what else will you watch?! Why can’t ppl just support the show, if you have DVR, tape it & then delete nobody will care. I just want the show to do we’ll, at least you have black folks on TV doing something positive….unless you like watching BET & College Hill??

Damn I forgot all about the Tyler Perry show! Oh well I’ll catch it next week. They should’ve had more advertising, at least here in nyc.
As far as the Ne-yo situation, something seems fishy, ’cause I could’ve swore he said lead the public to believe that was his biological son when he first came out, and if it wasn’t then he should’ve clarified that then. Y wait til now 2 do it? Don’t get me wrong if this if true then I commend him ’cause that is major, but if it’s not then he needs to find better ways of getting publicity! Cause yall know he put them head pic out himself.
And 4 Akon I thought it was fake also, but come on he gets no props for thowing a nerdy white 15 year old into the crowd, maybe if it was a grown ass man, but not no kid! He is so wack 4 that! Artists need to just let the music get them attention they so desperately seek….cause this right here aint gettin it!

To Gina: I can’t stand Katherine “Izzy” Heigle either but I knew he was going to be fired especially with all that Don Imus drama. I’m a little surprised most people are so upset by this. Regardless of whether the man is gay or not, Isiah shouldn’t have called him a “f@ggot”. If the situation were reversed and T.R. Knight or Patrick Dempsey called Isiah a “n!gger”, we’d be pulling out all the stops to make sure they were fired and probably never work in television again. Somewhere we as people need to stop being so hypocritical and hold our own more accountable for their actions.

I cannot express how much I am pissed about Isiah leaving Grey’s Anatomy! He was my best actor on the show! He brought something different to the show. I am so sick to my stomach!! And for Shonda Rimes to be a black person, she knows how hard it is for black actors actors to make it in this business! Like Tyra says, “SO WHAT”, he called George a fag!!! Im sure that was not the first time that he was called a fag! He said that out of anger! I’m sure that he does not hate homosexuals! When people get upset they say things that they dont mean!! He aplogized about that numerous amount of times!! That is all that he can do is apologize! Everytime there is a show on that has great success, they always do something to mess it up!! As yall can see, I am PISSED about them firing Isiah! I loved Grey’s Anatomy!
Ne-yo- props!! that is a MANLY thing that his doing!
House of Payne- was stale and wack as HELL! It wasnt funny at all! I think I laughed only once! It was so obvious that they were acting! It was almost like they were doing a play! But im going to try to give the brother another chance to redeem himself! But, hes going to have to bring it if he wants to make it at least one full season!

I was thinking the same damn thing!!! Women go crazy when they see a man pulling his Platinum card out! Last month, Ne-Yo was a gay, sexist to them and this week he conviently leaks a “chumped” up story, that no one should have ever hear about, and here these women come out of the wood works to give him praise!

-No matter what side of the arguement you come down on, one has to admit that America has a comparitively low tolerance when it comes to black people’s perceived/actual indiscretions. I’m just not convinced that had Isaiah been white, he would have been put through the same paces. I don’t even watch the show but I’m just saying.
-I think what Neyo is doing is admirable. I’m scratching my head though b/c I don’t see how anyone could be critical of this. The child’s father ABANDONED him. Neyo > 0 (nothing)
- I really really really like supporting black folks when they are trying to do something but HOP is putting a sister to the test. The laugh track has to GO and they need new writers like yesterday. Did Tyler actually see these episodes?

How is taking care of another mans child from a woman that you’re not even involved with, considered “stepping up”?? If you ask me, Neyo is a moron. I could understand if he was getting married to her or he was at least with her. He just gave that woman a free pass in life. She shouldve been a better judge of character and not had a child with the loser father.

This is to #82. I’m getting tired of people comparing a homophobic slur to a racial slur. I don’t care who I offend with this but unlike gays and lesbians, I didn’t just wake up one day and decide to be black. Being gay is a choice. Being black isn’t. Isiah didn’t deserve to be fired for calling Mr. Knight a fag. When he chose that lifestyle, names like that come with the territory.

House Of Payne was AWFUL…I had to force myself to watch it since they said Mr. Brown was gon be on the second episode and it was not worth it. But Allen Payne is FIOONNNNNNEE but he is not that fine for me to stick around for that mess.
Isaiah…oh well he wasn’t even good on the show. He was so boring and dull so I think he needs to be replaced with a better actor.
Ne-Yo I luv him and all the haters need to fall back cause he is doing something so honorable and different, taking care of another man’s baby is so nice of him.
Akon…please lock this fool up and flush the key cause he aint nuthin but a menace II society. His music is terrible, his voice is a mess, he looks like his face needs lotion, and how many times is he gonna do some stupid mess like this? What is his appeal? Please stop buying his music cause if you are you know you are wrong!

Isaiah’s firing was long overdue. His conduct was inexcusable and created a distraction. He should have been fired immediately after it happened.

I loved Isiah’s character on Greys but unfortunately he reaped what he sowed. Maybe he will be humbled by the situation and not be a pompous AZZ. This is not a black and white issue! People kill me trying to make this a race issue when it is not. If this happened in the real world, he would have been fired immediately.
Come on ppl wise up

Meat, HEY! I still think Ne-Yo is sweet-o! But to say that he will be there for this child is admirable IMO! This little boy’s bio dad is outtie? I think!:P So if Ne-yo is sayin I will be there for him, then thats a good thing. Even if he was a regular guy. Not cuz of his financial status. Which we dont know for sure is all that. Remember TLC, New Edition and some other youngstas were thought were ballin and were getting ripped off! Its just like adopting a baby that is not yours. Now I do think he must be wise and cautious if he is committed to this baby for the long haul. As far as his behavior and choices. Just mu opinion.

Ne-Yo ain’t steppin up to the plate, he’s steppin up to the cash register and ATM machine!

Unless they replace Isaiah with someone really good and African American, they just lost me. They will have to pique my interest to get me back.
I knew damn well that baby was not Ne-Yo’s from the door. That child looked nothing like either of them and I believe I may have posted on it. It is nice of him to do that though. My son has not father and life would have been a lot easier for me and him if he had a male figure who stepped up. I think our black men who have the time should help a friend or family member with there children, remember, it takes a villiage. I don’t mean financial support exactly, but they could take time with them. My brothers just started showing interest in my son and he is now 16. they don’t show enough and it is really sorry. I resent them for that. i am financially sound, but they could show some interest. Let my man go to the NFL and they asses would be all over the place hollering about THAT”S MY NEPHEW!

How is me applauding a man who is raising ANOTHER man’s child a problem? A man who takes care of his own child is great but thats what he is SUPPOSED to do. He shouldn’t get a pat on the back for doing that. Women don’t. I think the whole “Paris freed from jail” stuff is a disgrace. Medical condition my ass! There are people in prison/jail dying from AIDS or have hell of a way harsher medical condition than her apparent “rash” or whatever, so she just got off basically because she’s rich and a celebrity.
She was crying and wouldn’t eat. Oh the hell well! She should of thought about that before she hopped her drunk ass in a car and drove and then driving around on her suspended license. What if she ran over a small child driving drunk? I don’t feel a bit sorry for her and I fell like she needs to serve her jail sentence just like anyone else.
Oh and as far as Isaiah, I feel it was wrong to fire him after his apology, after his rehab, but I still say now that he’s gone–bring on Morris Chestnut! I need to see some sexy chocolate on tha show! The got McDreany, McSteamy, now we need McChocolate! Okay, maybe not McChocolate, but yall get what I mean!

HAHA–Isaiah has nobody to blame but himself. He didn’t just call the man a “faggot”, he created a terrible working environment for the rest of the cast and crew afterwards and became a PR nightmare for the show. I mean, seriously, the man has been behaving with the intelligence and class of a chimp throughout this whole incident. Even Katherine Heigel had to come out and say he really needs to shut the fuck up about it if he really wants it to go away. Those commercials he filmed were laughable and did nothing to help the show. In the end, I think the best decision was made. If wanted to act like an ass throughout this whole mess (as he has been), his ass needed to get cut.
And he’s STILL acting like a dumbass. I really doubt that “I’m mad as hell!” statement he released is going to do any good for his career…well, maybe it’ll get him something on BET in the Sunday afternoon timeslot…

@116
With the introduction of programs like child support, welfare and section 8, the government changed our communities viewpoint on children, not our men.
Before those programs were instituted, having children out of wedlock was looked down apon not it’s basically celebrated. Women are having children left and right without any responsibility or remorse because it has become a sort of income to live off of. Section encourages women to live on their own. The child support system is soo baised. I know plenty of my friends who have unfairly caught the short end of that program, that it just disgusts me. I refuse to have a child with a woman out of wedlock after seeing what the female biased court system can do.
So do I see illegitimate children as another bill? Until I decide that I want to have children, yes I do.

Bill Said:
It’s Human nature to take an interest in your friends children.
When my kids friends come by the house, I treat them like their my own.
That includes feeding them, and listening to them when they talk
* For whatever reason the neighborhood kids are always asking me for advice. I guess because I’m a social worker, they feel they can confide in me. That a good thing…
The kids that I work with at the high school I’m assigned to are in essence “my kids”.
They are in and out of my ofice all day asking questions, looking for jobs, asking me for money…
My Point ???
Well, it’s that kids have a way of growing on you.
You may not intend to go out of your way to help a kid, but if you have any type of heart, you will help a child that needs adult supervision in their life.
What type of person wouldn’t want to reach out and help a defenseless little baby ???
Epecially if you have the Time, Resources & Means (money).
* I’m not saying that ALL men should go around taking care of babies born out of wedlock.
That’s not wise, because most women mistake kindness for weakness, and the next thing you’ll be doing is paying her rent, and her car note…
Some situations are unique.
There are so many kids being born without a father in their lives.
One would have to use common sense in deciding to step into this situation, because it WON’T be a temporary assignment, but permanent !
Once a child get’s attached to you, you can’t just decide to walk out of his/her life. That’s not cool.
Neyo did a cool thing.
I just hope it’s not a publicity stunt or a temporary situation until he starts his own family
Peace

what about thw women that raise their kids ALONE more times than not! What about adoptive parents. They are not sexually/romantically involved with the birth parents. Its about the CHILD! I work with a lady that is openly gay. She and her lover adopted a lil’boy 3 years ago! He is the cutest fellow! His situation wouldve been a terrible one! They adopted him out of love for the baby. Now some may raise the whole gay issue. But I applaud them for taking that baby out of a drug infested, domestic violence, unstable home! just MO.

Allow me to give you a scenario about getting involved with women who have children from prior relationships
* NOTE: I’m NOT stating that there is anything wrong with this scenario, I’m just stating that men need to consider all the ramifications.
Without getting into particulars, I had a cousin who had hooked up with this chick who had 5 kids from a prior relations (three of kids had different father, if that matters).
Anyway He (my cousin) falls in love with this chick, and as a result started to have feeling for her kids.
He starts to take care of her kids (financially) and they started to call him daddy….
The chick was a shiesty type of chick
* I think you youngins refer to a person like her as a “jump off”.
Anyways, it wasn’t long before the chick decided to resume her cheating ways, and my cousin busted her with different dudes a couple of time (what can I say about my cousin except that He’s not the brightest guy in the world, but he DOES have a good heart).
The problem:
The Five kids have become SO attached to him.
EVEN though him and the chick are not together anymore,
The kids STILL call him on his cellular, asking to see him, hang out with him, etc, etc.
My Point:
A Lot of woman mistake kindness for weakness, so BLACK MEN be VERY CAREFUL when deciding to take care of your woman’s children (if they kids are not biologically yours).
Not to mention the OTHER issues that are very relevent:
The Child REAL father - What/How is the child relationship with their father, and how do YOU (the man) fit into the equation ?
How does the child’s REAL (Biological) father feel about you disicipling HIS child ???
How does the child’s REAL (Biological) father feel about you having sex with his baby’s mother.
It’s a real world out there, and these are REAL issue that a Black Man must think about when dealing with a woman who has children from a previous relationship
Peace

Bill, again my brotha, I co-sign!
Kids to grow attatched to you!
My brother’s son is like my son, the ONLY reason he is not still in my home is because he missed his mom. He graduates next year. When my brother was hustling on the streets, I had my own baby, his baby was with me. A single mom (teenaged) with two jobs NOT on welfare! Thank God for my baby’s granny, RIP mama Burta, she helped me with both those kids. My nephew is 3 months older than my daughter. My nephew went back to dc when he was 3 and came back to me when he was 11. thats when my brother went in. Now this kid graduates next year and wants to come back. Do I say no? Senior is VERY expensive. My own child graduates next year! Do I say no? ABSOLUTELY NOT! He needs me! And I will be there for him! Not out of love for my brother, his daddy, but out of love and committment to my nephew! Do I expect to be congratulated? NOPE! I am his auntie and I have loved him since the day he was born! He will go to college! ( I taught him how to read! He was 2-3) He will NOT go to jail/ prison or the military! My Congratulations/pat on the back will be to see him successful and happy!

I agree BILL with your post (#131).
I have no children, but I definitely agree 100%.
I felt the same way about bringing boyfriends around my sisters & brothers. (One’s 19 now, the other is 17..and my adopted brother/cousin is 8). We have no older brothers, and we don’t get along with our father. They got so attached to my ex, I think they were more upset about the break up, than I was.
My sister was devastated she lost her older brother…My brother was like 5 when this happened…when RJ stopped coming around, he asked “why RJ doesn’t love us anymore.” It broke my heart & broke me down.
It’s a sticky situation & involving children even stickier.
So I feel you on that.

Mika, how Chimere’s mom gone be around all Ne-Yo millions and not get some? I caution women to keep an eye on any man who wants to have a special relationship with a child that’s not theirs! Not saying Ne-Yo is Michael Jackson or R., but don’t take your eye off your baby!
Ne-yo looks like he ready to embrace, cuddle and kiss on little Chimere! Why? If he wants to step up to the “plate”, let him marry her and really give the child a father! Then we can stop trying to guess if he’s really “kind-hearted” or the pappy derivative!

PLEASE LET ME HELP YOU! fIRST IF A WOAMN HAS A CHILD FROM A MAN THAT SHE HAS TO PUT ON CHILD SUPPORT, THEN MOST TIMES HE AINT BALLIN! WITH THAT BEING SAID HE PROBABLY HAS MORE THAN ONE SUPPORT ORDER, AND HAS A LOW OR MEDIUM PAYING JOB! WHICH WOULD AMOUNT TO A LIL’ BIT OF CHILD SUPPORT! MAYBE 50 DOLLARS A WEEK!
LETS JUST SAY FOR ARGUEMENTS SAKE SHE HAS 4 SUCH BABY DADDIES. AND FOUR GROWING HUNGRY CHILDREN. IF THE BABY DADDIES PAY AND STAY CURRENT SHE HAS AN “INCOME” OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS WEEKLY! AND FOR UR ARGUMENT WE WILL GIVE HER SECTION 8. SO RENT MAY BE 100 MONTHLY.
SO THAT LEAVES 175 WEEKLY. LIGHTS MAY BE 100 MONTHLY. THAT LEAVES 150 WEEKLY. SHE HAS WATER BILL 75.00 MONTHLY. THAT LEAVES ROUGHLY 131.00 WEEKLY THE 4 CHILDREN NEED TO BE TRANSPORTED, CLOTHED AND FED. ALLL THAT OFF 500 A MONTH! u TRY RAISING FOR KIDS OFF 500 A MONTH! LIL POOKIE NEEDS SHOES, RAYRAY NEEDS BRACES, MANMAN HAS FOOTBALL, AND SHAYSHAY NEEDS A TUTOR CUZ SHE CANT READ THAT WELL! CHILD SUPPORT IS NOT A “FINANCIAL OPPORTUNITY”! aND THIS COMES FROM A WOMAN THAT HAS A 17 YEAR AND HAS NEVER GONE TO THE MAN ON HER FATHER. MY CHILD IS ACTIVE IN SPORTS, HAS HAD A BROKEN LEG THAT REQUIRED SURGERY AND 9 MONTHS OF THERAPY THAT INSURANCE DID NOT COVER. HAS HAD HER TEETH IN BRACES AND RETAINERS TWICE. SO I KNOW ABOUT THE COST OF RAISING A CHILD.

Those are two questions that should not even be asked - IF THE FATHER IS A LOSER! In the case of Ne-yo that is exactly what happened.
I really hope you were joking about the last question, b/c the BIOLOGICAL father would/should never have a say in who the mother chooses lay down with. If he chose not to stick around to take care of “HIS CHILD” in the first place.

I feel like any man who steps up to have a positive influence on a child’s life should be commended, whether it be an uncle, stepdad, grandfather or ex-boyfriend.
It’s easy for someone to say “she’s out for money” or “he’s stupid” ESPECIALLY if you have no children. I hope that when you do, your partner remains committed to the responsibility of a raising and providing for a child.
Let’s be real though, some men will walk away from their own child and never look back. Does the child deserve that? NO And if someone is willing to pick that up and give that child the advantage of having 2 parents, what’s wrong with that? Nothing IMO
As far as Paris, I’m not suprised I figured she’d pull something like this. But house arrest? That judge needs to be demoted asap.

WHY IS IT if you critique Tyler Perry black people act as if you’re selling out or hatin’ on a brotha doing his thang?
Just because he’s talented (no question), and the messages in his work are supposed to be positive (though stereotypical), and he’s made a ton of money (by catering to church folk and lonely black women), anyone that challenges whether or not his films and plays are the new minstrels are accused of “whitewashing” his material. Looking only to compare his comedy to that of white counterparts.
Aren’t we missing the point? The question we should be asking is how truly funny, creative, and innovative is Tyler Perry. And do we go on excepting that black or urban comedy doesn’t have to be groundbreaking and original. That actually challenging the comedy generated from “the hood” is like expecting Flava Flav to become articulate. What is so wrong in expecting more from our talents?
Let me give you an example. I’m sure we all agree rap music is not what it used to be. One of the main issues concerning the hip-hop community when it first reached popularity was not selling out. Not forgetting that the art came first and commerce came only as a result of the art. Now it’s become the total opposite. Money is the ONLY theme and the art isn’t even a factor. Sure, there are a few that try their best to hold it down but even Young Jeezy claims he’s not a hip-hopper. He says he’s only a street hustler turned rapper who’s basically benefiting from the trailblazers of the art form. That’s like BET’s ComicView comedians saying they know nothing about Richard Pryor, they’re just trying to make a come up. Art becomes second or null and void, making money the primary objective.
Though I don’t in any way feel Tyler Perry’s only motivation is “getting paid”, I do believe he has sacrificed some of the art for what a community of people have settled for. It is tricky critiquing a man I am actually proud of mostly because so many of you support his work unflinchingly. But a man with his success has to be prepared to be called out about the quality of his entertainment and how it impacts his audience.
We seem to get too hung up on what’s positive as opposed to what’s genuinely well-done. But what’s so positive about two dimensional stories with no complete substance? The metro-sexual looking hard working black man who saves the strong (or weak) attractive black woman from either the bourgeoisie abusive husband or the thugged out drug dealer. Then of course we have the elder who preaches how we’ve got to get things back to how they used to be back in the day. Topped off with the comic relief of the over the top, gun toting, weed smoking Madea who puts everyone in their place. It’s so formulaic you know the ending half way thru the story.
Face it black people, we have settled for what we define as entertainment. No one’s saying he has to be the next Judd Apatow (the cat who wrote “The 40 Year Old Virgin”), or the Farralley Brothers (the guys who wrote “Something About Mary”) or even Chris Rock. But when will we be more receptive to humor that expands outside the realm of stereotypes? Dave Chapelle seemed to do it with no effort whatsoever and WE GOT IT! Intelligent, highbrow humor that dealt with our racial concerns but managed to do it creatively while staying innovative. It’s all about balance. If there were more Dave Chappelle’s out here there’d be no need to debate it. But unfortunately “Norbit”, “Big Mama’s House”, and Madea seem to be the only way of getting us to the box office. Do you watch “Everybody Hates Chris” (which is very good) or we’re you counting down to Tyler’s “House Of Payne”? “The Bernie Mac Show” or “All Of Us”? Did you know a sister created the hit show “Grey’s Anatomy”? Creative black comedy or the same-ole, same-ole?
This commentary is not to bash Tyler for doing what he knows best while generating quite a fortune doing so. I’m just an arm chair quarterback with another opinion out here. But I do know that if we don’t start thinking outside the box we will continue to stunt the growth of future generations of comedic writers and comedians. It applies not only to entertainment but to everything we excel in. So the next time someone black says they don’t feel Tyler Perry all that much, instead of getting on your soap box for coming down on the brother, listen to what they mean. They’re really looking for the growth in an obvious comedic talent that will not only benefit his artistic future, but ours as well.
Love ya Tyler, for real…..just step ya game up yo.

I dunno Nikki sis. My aunt gets $800 a month in child support for her son and that’s her ONLY child.
The problem with child support these days, is that (I believe) it goes by a man’s income. A large number of men being hit up for support are living large aka BALLIN!, but don’t have the stubs to validate that (if you know what I mean.)
I also know A LOT of people who cheat the systems too. Being supported by their drug dealing boyfriends, but still get approved for low-income housing & checks from the state every month, because the only household income on record is the chick working part-time at McDonald’s.

Stevie Wonder could see that Isaih Washington’s stupid ass was going to get fired. When you’re lukewarm you get spit out. You can’t attack homosexuals and then beg them for forgiveness. It doesn’t work like that. You really shouldn’t attack anyone and then beg them for forgiveness because you shouldn’t put your hands on someone unless it’s their life or yours. Then he said what he said and bitched up. Nobody respects a man that doesn’t stick to his guns, not even Satan. He couldn’t find anything more pointed and articulate to say than, “I’m mad as hell.” If he’s mad it’s because he realized that he got played. The Gay Mafia made him run the gauntlet and still gave him his walking papers, and it’s not a surprise at all.
This society is rapidly moving towards an atmosphere where what was once “alternative” is now mainstream and all those that hold on to any type of morality or truthful belief in God will either have to keep it to themselves or go out like a soldier. There is no more freedom of speech. It’s subjective now.
@85
It’s funny that you would give Ne-yo more credit for helping the Africans than him helping a black American. I only say that because I notice that black people love to jump on the African bandwagon as if black people here in America are in the mental, spiritual, or financial condition to help anyone, lol. Moreover, black Americans love to speak about Africans as if the Africans are better than American blacks.

DDS,
Because I got married so young, I was spared a lot hurt & heartache.
Being a Sociologist, I take the time to observe situations and people.
Being a Man, I know how men feel.
Scenario:
If a man breaks up with a woman, then sees His woman with another man, he will usually become heated.
ESPECIALLY
if his child is involved.
Here’s Why:
The man who is no longer with the woman is paying child support.
He may also be paying for a divorce settlement.
NOW…
He’s (the man, the orginal husband) is out of the house, but yet he is still paying the bills IN the house he no longer lives in (remember he paying child support & a divorce settlement…If they purchased the house together, and divorced, guess who retains custody of the house & the child..The WOMAN).
Now, because of that, there will be a tad bit of anger and possibly resentment on the man’s part.
Now the man’s ex wife becomes involved with another man.
That man is now sexing the woman, and has taking that Man’s child as his step child.
The First Husband is going to have a lot of pent up (angry) emothions, because now he has lost his wife to this other dude, they are sexing in the house that he is paying the mortgage on, and the child that he has raised and is paying child support for is now calling someone else daddy.
* I’m familiar with all of this, because this exact scenario has happen to a few of my Frat brothers

So, you’d have to commend Michael Jackson too, for welcoming all those children to Never Neverland! Listen, Ne-Yo ain’t got time to spend with no children! He’s an entertainer! They don’t do well with crumbsnatchers pulling on their coat tails!
They can pay for the best nannies, but don’t expect them to spend a lot of quality time unless there’s a alterior motive!
And, while it’s true that “some men will walk away from their own child and never look back” it is also true that some women give them no choice! Angel said the biological father “failed to stick around”! I need more details before I call him a deadbeat!
I know a lot of you single moms see this as a wonderful blessing from God on high, but this could be another ploy filled with smoke and mirrors! Celebrities do all kinds of ish for publicity!
