This unreleased song from Rihanna’s latest, “Good Girl Gone Bad” sounds like the less-depressing cousin of a hit from her previous album, “Unfaithful.” Although I’m not particularly a fan of Rihanna vocally, she does something for me. I’m not sure what it is, but she has truly solidified herself as one of the summer’s hottest artists. “Cry” could have found itself somewhere at the ballad and midtempo heavy end of Rihanna’s album, but I guess it was just lost in transition.

I’m sorry that Rihanna is included in this post twice. Not only is she everywhere in the media, now you have to hear two songs in the review. But I had to post this, considering that I’ve gotten over five billion e-mails about this song. If you’ve read CL for a while, you know that I’m a Chris Brown fan – I respect what he does. I just found this remix to be really funny. And not only that, if I got another e-mail about this song, I was going to go insane.

Another Mario snippet has leaked that I like a lot. I think it has more to do with the production than his voice, but I definitely am finding that I’m liking some of this material a lot more than the initial stuff that was leaking from his upcoming album, “Go!” It just seems like it’s a long time coming, considering that we posted his new single “How Do I Breathe” (and that video just debuted in the last couple of weeks) so long ago. Either way, glad to see his project is coming along nicely. I just hope I’m not disappointed in it like I was with “Turning Point.”

I know that I’ve posted this song before – but media contacts have been hitting up about this being the new US single. Amerie’s album, “Because I Love It” has been pushed back several times due to the lack of support for her first American single, “Take Control.” But she’s been blazing overseas, where “Because I Love It” was already released on May 15th. I don’t think “Gotta Work” is going to give her the push she needs to get this album out over in the States. I don’t know, I just don’t see where this will fit in.
Besides Amerie that I already liked the songs suck. Is Mario serious? That track is horrible.

I guess this is the new face of remixes… do absolutely nothing to change the song itself but instead digitally incorporate someone else’s voice to the track and call it a day! Hmmm, I guess… I’m just not feeling this Rihanna remix. I had to stop the player as soon as I heard Mr. Brown’s “you can be my Cinderella, ella, ella…” ROFL, somebody please stop the “ella, ella” madness!!!
I like the rihanna song, a much better improvement vocal wise compared to Unfaithful! I think she has a pretty decent voice, as long as she sings softly and doesnt go for those high notes cause DAMN her voice damages my soul when she tries to SANG.

GOTTA WORK is the worst song on Amerie’s album but it’s still better than many other songs which are singles at the moment.

Amerie always needs and edge to her music, same w/ mario, although I am feeling his new joint. @13, I agree with you. Although I don’t necessarily think it’s “jealousy” (Rihanna only 19; most females on here are older than her). That’s always been a fact that when males are added on to tracks that were origionaly created by female, people(mainly females and/or homosexuals:) like it better for some reason.

It jumped soo high because it was recently released to Itunes the week before. Itunes counts as double points with the Billboard charts. Paul Mccartney is expected to have the number 1 album. I really expected her to sell more, but she is NEVER a huge seller.
All artists that have albums coming out are everywhere in order to promote their cds. LInkin Park was all over the place too. CL only focuses on certain artists so it may SEEM like it is only Rihanna and Beyonce , but in reality all artists are like that.

Wow, I hated that Amerie track with a passion when I first heard it a few months ago. I listened to it like 10 times and it never grew on me. It actually gave me a headache. But now I LOVE it after listening to it once. Strange. She should release a hot video and it could do really well.

They put Umbrella out on Itunes the week it was #40 and it rose to the number 1 spot on Itunes and that next week it was number 1. That is why it rose so fast on the charts.Umbrella was only charting with radio play. Itunes does a LOT. I think Jay was trying to have it on Itunes a couple of weeks before the album dropped so she could have a #1 single and album. From the looks of it. It looks likes she is only going to have a number 1 single. But HDD is off sometimes , but their NOT that much off the target.
