Miseducation is a classic — I am not holding out too much hope though. Every so often we get reports that she is coming out with some new material and it nevers happens…. but she was so good, that even 10 years from now Miseducation will still be a classic.

cool, let’s see what happens. personally, i think that vocally she won’t be able to top her first b/c her vocals lately haven’t been as great as they used to be (stress, started smoking? idk). lyrically and content-wise she can top it. imo her first album got tiring. of all the songs the only one i still listen to is “zion”. i think her unplugged was also better than her first (maybe b/c i love acoustic performances). i hope this next one goes in that acoustic direction

New York I agree with you that the Unplugged album was better than the Mised. I loved Mised, but when I saw her on TV performing the Unpluggede material I was mesmerized. It was absolutely brillant. I suggest if you have never seen that performance you don’t know what you are missing. Forget the critics just take an honest listen.

Lauryn is very controlling. If you’ve seen some of her concerts she’s known for changing songs in the middle of a performance and dictating with hand gestures while on stage. That’s no different than what James Brown used to do and yes a lot of his band members hated him too. I think they’re just trying to make sure they sound great so people will enjoy the music.

I wasn’t feeling that song that leaked recently. Not really her style or a style that best suits her voice. Looking forward to more music though.

@ NEW YORKER, I find the Unplugged better than Miseducation too but only lyrically. But this goes to show how the media get paid sometimes to bash artists or just decide to break them (or make and praise them when they ain’t all that) because that CD was so dissed I thought it would be horrible before listening, but when I heard it I was like what’s wrong with those music critics?

Lauryn better come back with the heat, cause musically I’m starving. There hasn’t been a songwriter/lyricist as good as Lauryn since she left the spotlight.
