The Madea character is based on one of his aunts. So as you can see, he is still very much in contact with many people from his past. Therefore, it could not be Tyler Perry. Also, there is the fact that he is an actor.

I know that I am extremely late on this comment, but I am familiar with the two people that are mentioned and close to someone in the “CAMP”. The answer is in fact Tyler Perry and Laveranues Coles. Reason being, Tyler is considered a Writer/Director not an Actor. As far as his family being at his plays (you have to be a Tyler fan to know) he is VERY spiritual and believes in forgiveness. He also often speaks of his abuse as a child. This is why he was always with the other family (anyone that is close to their family would have never been homeless, THINK ABOUT IT)
And as far as them always being together. For those of you who knows either of them personally, you can attest to this. They are like Siamese Twins, Joined at the hip! In the offseason you will hardly EVER see one without the other. Tyler is not even a Football fan, but states that he will be making some games this season… Hope this helps
