DJIMON HOUNSOU FOR CALVIN KLEIN

Djimon Hounson for Calvin Klein

Check out Kimora’s man, Djimon Hounson in the new Calvin Klein Steel underwear campaign. The shots were reportedly taken in the Hollywood Hills.

The Oscar-nominee told the New York Post:

“I regularly watch how much, when and what I eat. It really becomes a daily journey. You just have to do it - get up, eat something, go to the gym - so you can burn as much as you can and look lean. It’s pretty challenging.” [SOURCE]

He did a good job, because he looks good.

@mjb and belissimo THANK YOU. i have been saying that for years. the reason why black men like djimon end up with white women is b/c they are pursued by white women (or women of other races) more. we always complain about how there are no more “good men” b/c they have chosen women of other races. though there are black men who are shun black women, there are those who don’t care about race. however, if you’re own race isn’t attracted to you, you’re going to search for love somewhere else. i think this man is beautiful but i KNOW that NONE of my black friends would find him attractive. actually no black girl i have ever met would find him attractive. i even had a girl straight out tell me that she preferred light-skinned men and thought dark-skinned men were ugly. most of the women that are running after him are probably not dark-skinned black girls therefore he probably won’t end up with one (like the haitian boy mjb was talking about). we shouldn’t be upset at him, we should be upset atsome of the young black girls today who think that attractive equals ghetto, hood, too baggy pants, belligerence etc. i can’t tell you how many times i’ve seen a poised cute dark-skinned boy “discarded” for a wannabe thug regardless of color (which also brings in the issue of inner beauty, something that our society forgets about though they superficially praise it) and of course the poised boy ended up with a white chick. i guess what i’m trying to say is that ppl need to stop criticizing him for dating a light-skinned chick when many black women don’t even want him b/c they think he’s too dark. let him be with someone who loves him

end note: HE IS SOOO BEAUTIFUL!

I will applaud some of you women on your stunning admission. I have also been previewed to the black-on-black stereotypes in college. I had friends from Senegal, who were dark as Djimon…and their women were fair complexion or of mix decent. It seems like, every race of women were chasing after these guys, except black women. Is it is something they know about that black women don’t know?

Now, I have no issue with personal preferences. But, I do have issues when majority of black men and black women typecast beauty to fit a certain mold.

If you understood how much power your dark skin carries, many of you would try to find the darkest person to mate with. Dark melanin is the dominant allele…is supersedes every other complexion. Do you know that white America is trying to come up with a pill that will enhance the melanin production in white people? White America knows that white skin is weaker and that if you travel through the world, white is the minority. Go to middle east, Go to India, go to brazil, go to Japan, go to south America, go the Africa, almost the entire world consist of people with some degree of darker melanin. You are feared! If you mate a black person with a white person, the offspring will no longer be white…that is fucking power. And white America knows that.

Please inform me, how I don’t know about my race. A majority of the dudes I have dated/crushed on, have been dark skinned males. I’ve dated someone the SAME COMPLEXION as Djimon. My mother and my sister are dark skinned. I have no special preference when it comes to race or complexion. I find this ONE GUY unattractive & now I don’t know about my race. Get fucking real. If that’s the case those who diss Tameka know not about their race.
(That’s another point, black women are so quick to diss & bring other black women down….yet put black men [no matter how they look or act] on this unreachable pedestal…well I’m sorry…I’m not about to be beneath anyone)
A good number of these motherfuckers in here were dissing this man in every other post. Now the man is in his drawers & people are hooting & hollaring.

Truth of the matter: Could PC have been the wrong term to use?, maybe. But the real is: people yearn to be accepted & fit in, whether it’s online or not. That’s a reality. You can tell by the little cliques of people who laugh at & cosign everything their counterparts say. As I stated before, whenever someone doesn’t give a black man/person their props they are automatically labeled as “ashamed of their race”, “not knowing of their culture”, and “whitewashed”. Then people start switching up here to avoid conflict & confrontation among people like yourself.
Me, I’m not scared to stick to my opinions & statements. I’m also not afraid to express them. The funny thing is: YOU yourself, understood where I drew my statement from; yet I’m STILL “uncouth” to you.

@complexndope there are some parts to your argument that i don’t agree with.
1. you said black women are so quick to put each other down and put black men on a pedestal. that’s a general statement that shouldn’t be made b/c most of the black girls i know have problems with the way a lot of black men act. a lot of black women are always talking about how there is a shortage of “good” black men. i’ve even seen those types of conversations on tv so i don’t think black men are put on a pedestal. are women quicker to criticize other women than they do for men? yes, but that’s the human nature. white women do the same. even men are quicker to criticize other men than they do women. you don’t know how many times guy friends of mine have been upset at me for stating that some guy was cute.

2. i’m not sure where you’re statement about ppl being called “whitewashed” b/c they don’t like some black guy comes from. i’m stated on several occasions that the football guy that was with kim kardashian was nothing special but i never got called out on it. i think kelly rowland looks average but i never got called out on that. ppl might disagree and tell me i’m wrong but i’ve never been called white-washed. it depends on how you say things. if someones says that djimon is too dark for his/her tastes, then i’ll be like “oh so what? you have a problem with dark skin? you’re whitewashed”. i think the reason why ppl might be upset with your statement is b/c you made a general statement about political correctness as if no one can possibly find this man attractive, that it must be that ppl want to be PC (i know you weren’t talking about everyone but the fact that you made the statement at all shows that it’s hard for you to believe that he’s wanted by many women). you said that many ppl on here talking about how good he looks are the same ones clowning him. that’s kind of true but you forgot that ppl can change their views, we’re fickle like that. when i first saw him in the janet vid and the michael vid, i thought he was ugly but when i saw a clip of him in that latifah movie, i thought he was so sexy and his speech was so perfect. i’ve changed in the way i look at men and maybe there are ppl on here that have gone through the same change

brother has always been fine and ggod looking since amistad. Some people don’t recognize beauty when they see it. Color or origin has nothing to do with it. I just wish I was in Kamora shoes.

How sad to read the comments - especially from “Bailey” about what “white Americans deplore”. You sound like an educated person, but to make a claim about what we deplore is no different than us making stereotypical comments about you. Please refrain from lumping all white people in to a big pot of hatred and racism. We, like every other race, have differing opinions that are all our own, due to how we were raised, the culture around us and our life experiences. There is almost always a wall between me and my black friends, which I know I don’t build. It’s because of this attitude that deep down, we’re (whites) all the same.
If that were the case, Obama would never have gotten to where he is now because he sure didn’t get there strictly with the help of the black community.
Please think, just a little, before you post such generalizations.
