@ 128.. Having knowledge of it is one thing…Actually taking part in the execution of the dogs is entirely different and should be a stiffer penalty.

People said the same thing about Kobe, Duke Lacross Players, etc. I’m going to hold my judgement until after the trial in November.

I was in my bathroom one night in my apartment and I heard my neighbor being beaten by her husband. She was screaming in a foreign language and all I heard was constant slaps and banging against my wall, it was so loud that I had to close all of my doors just to hear my tv. Now, I had two choices; ignore what was going on, or try and get that woman some help. So I called the police. If I hadn’t done that, who knows what would have happened to the woman and her baby. I believe that had something happened to the woman and her child, I would be just as guilty as the assailant because I could have done something to stop it, but I didn’t. Same thing with Vick; if he knowingly let that shit go on then that must mean he thought it was ok, so he’s no less guilty than the dogfighters IMO.

I do however agree that this is the same thing as the Duke lacrosse players; but even though they were proven innocent, their image was totally ruined, and whenever someone mentions them they automatically think about that allegedly raped stripper. Guilty or innocent, Vick’s image is ruined now and he has a lot of work to do to repair it. Like I said PETA is going to be on his ass to the maximum now, regardless of his guilt or innocence.

I’ll say this much only because there are two ways i see people R looking at this whole affair. One is from the legal stand point and the other pretty much from the moral stand point. This man has already been convicted and the law (lawyers and prosecutors) has ways of doing this before a charge is dealt or a trial set. We don’t know what Vick did all we know is what Taylor did and he said he electrocuted and shot a damn dog. If there are so many damn dog lovers in this world Y am i seeing all this damn strays out and about and Y are the shelters and humane societies killing them off when they become overcrowded. Because a damn dogs life means nothing as harsh as it would sound. And i use to have 3 doobermans, a german sheperd, and a chi-chi-wa-wa (aka a mut) needless to say i gave em all away when i moved from the city. My girl dooberM got hit by two cars one time and that was it we put her down. They all were guard-dogs. Neither people nor dogs should fight. However that would be unrealistic because it is natural to have some competative spirit. But it is not natural for humans to pit innocent beasts against one another in their quest for more and more violence. At least in a boxing ring there are safeguards in control. The fighters are well payed and do not fight to the death. They are fighters becuase of the big money they make. I doubt if anyone would lose sleep over a dead dog. The dog gets nada. I have worked in an animal hospital for the past fifteen years and you would not believe the way that some humans torture animals. I wish that every human responsible for the inhumane death or torture of an animal could feel the same pain. And to make a sport out of it for monetary gain, oh no hes got to go. Its not a white or black thing its a humane thing.

Well I for one don’t feel sorry for Michael Vick at all. He brought this all on to himself. I do feel however that the media is trying to make an example out of him because he is a black man but, he was the one who was participating in illegal activity. What gets me about this whole situation is that, because of his celebrity, some black people still want to give him a free pass. I think it’s really pathetic that people still support him after these heinous accusations.

You know doc, I am a black women. And I have dogs. And who is to say whether or not dogs or humans are most important because to tell the truth, neither one of us will ever know the answer. When you and I die, just like any other organism, we are dust. But, I do know that torturing something with lesser means than yourself is cruel, unwarranted and — it is just because we can… In no way do I minimize human suffering, there are people dying all over the world — and many people of color– but that does not excuse the fact of what mr. vick did. There are shelters and the streets where a dog tries to survive just like a person would. We have our mortalities due to disease and war and hunger just like any other species. But to have a certain species maliciously and purposefuly put to death a living creature with a personality and feelings and a will to live— merely for entertainment purposes— is just wrong.

Innocent till proven guilty people. I have never seen such hatred. Such self-righteous people. I agree that the crime is horrible,but judging before all of the facts have been heard is criminal as well. I think Vick’s judgement has been poor sometimes. Who’s hasn’t been ,but that doesn’t make him guilty. If we were all guilty by association,many of us black people would be under the jail.

I live in the Atl. and the city is divided among racial lines. Not neccessarily about dog fghting but a lack of fairness and the total unfair conviction in the court of public oppinion. The story is constantly being slanted to sway the public opinion to favor one side(PETTA etc). We love you and are praying for you Vick and your family. Yes it is ok for Vick to openly acknowledge God in a crisis. God doesn’t care when or how you come to him as long as you do. He that is without sin,especially PETA,Klansmen,or exklansmen cast the first stone. The elected official that was an ex-klan member was forgiven for his hate inspired actions,but Vick can’t be forgiven for his alleged involvement in dog fighting business. I assure you they are animals nothing more nothing less. Dear Michael Vick and supporters:

If Michael Vick was on his knees right now asking God to forgive him for the years of suffering he has caused these poor, misfortunate animals, then I might be thinking differently. Instead, he is taking God’s name in vain to make himself appear pious while denying any part.

The fact that this has been made into a racial issue is wrong and way off base. Dogfighting is an evil “sport” involving greed, brutality and severe cruelty. Anyone who takes part in such a thing is guilty of exploiting these most innocent of God’s creations. You need to realize that making money off of the pain and suffering of animals is not exclusive to any race.

Someone else commented that the black race are treated worse than animals — are we still slaves? Are there choke collars and chains around our necks? Is Michael Vick being lynched or beaten? I can assure you that he will be given a fair trial with the best lawyers his money can buy.

We can rise above our past and become successful — just as Michael Vick was given the opportunity to do. But now, since he has committed such atrocities against man’s best friend, he is going to fall. And none of us can stop him. He has only himself to blame.

George Bush hunts animals as a sport, and its not a problem. I am against dog fighting; however, I feel white america is blowing this out of proportion because he is a young black millionaire: white america’s worst nightmare.

I don’t know if anyone already said this or not but if I was millionaire I certainly could find better things to do than invest in some dog fighting ring.
