Host Mo’Nique and her F.A.T. CHANCE finalists get naked in their latest photo shoot.
I’m not a skinny chick myself so I try to support Mo’Nique as much as I can – but I have to draw the line at this one. They really PLAYED the women in this photo. *Shakes Head* However, I do applaud them for getting naked in front of the camera because that really means they are comfortable with themselves.
Anyway, in a recent interview with Essence Magazine Mo’Nique spoke on the new season of F.A.T. Chance and on the body paint:
You’re also celebrating your junior year with your F.A.T. Chance beauty pageant. How was it taping the show in Paris?
- It was absolutely life-changing for me. We did high-fashion photo shoots, walked the runways of Paris and did nude body painting.Wow, so you let go of all your inhibitions in France. How long did it take you to muster up the courage?
- Well, I’ve been nude before. When I visited Exuma, Bahamas, it was extremely private and isolated, so I would take my bathing suit off and I enjoyed that feeling. After doing it the first time on a remote island, I said I wanted to enjoy this feeling whenever I feel like having it and I felt like having it in Paris. And the Parisians were looking at us like, “Whadahell? What are we supposed to do? I’m like, “Get some more paint Sugar because you got to paint all of this.”So did any of the women get cold feet?
- The night before and the morning of you could feel the tension and see the emotions on their faces when I told them that we would be getting naked in front of cameras and a crew. What they didn’t know or see was that I was going through the same emotions. But the moment we all had to drop our towels, I watched those women and myself walk into freedom. It was very emotional for all of us. We laughed and we cried. It really chokes me up because when you see it, you don’t see unattractiveness or shame from the women, all you see is true beauty.
The third season of Oxygen’s plus-size reality competition Monique’s F.A.T. Chance starts with one hour casting special on July 21st @ 10PM ET/PT.
I agree with post #101, skinny doesn’t necessarily mean healthy. I have some skinny friends that eat fast food almost everyday. Some are just lucky that what they eat doesn’t show on their body, ppl have different metabolisms. But the insides of those ppl must be fucked up though.
But nobody pays attention to that, often ppl think that when you’re thin, you have a pass to eat whatever you want and then feel the right to tell a fat person to stop eating. Like one of the posts mentioned, some ppl are 1 hamburger away before they start gaining weight and become fat.
Healthy is not just fiiting the size that society wants you to fit, but the size that fits you and is most healthy for your body type and lifestyle. And also, b-careful what u say about a person’s look, cuz one day it might be you in the same position of that person.

There is nothing wrong with being proud of yourself and feeling beautiful but this is straight disgusting! Hell some people that are in shape should not have their a** crack all up in the pictures. I’m 140 5’5 1/2, which is a good weight for my height, but I too have high cholesterol.

The girls have pretty faces but if your BODY MASS INDEX is over 24.9 you are overweight and it is not healthy. I don’t care if you eat only at subway it is unhealthy.
And a BMI under 18.9 is also unhealthy. So it goes either way.

About 35% of adults over age 20 are overweight and for children under 11 it’s about 20% with the numbers increasing. I mean how many people cook at home anymore? Everything is fast food with trans fat, etc.
So, like it or not, America as a whole is getting fatter and eventually a person within a “normal” weight range will be in the minority. So the debate over obesity is a larger issue than the ladies in this picture and I feel like people just took this opportunity to pick on them and dog them for “not having self control” when I’m sure nobody on this board knows them personally to even make that statement.
The issue at hand was the tastefulness of the pic. Only a few ladies actually pulled off the “look” they were going for, but if they were comfortable with doing the pic, then cool. Who am I to judge?
Look back at old European paintings and you will see the women depicted (nude by the way) were not stick thin. They would be considered “cows” by today’s standards I’m sure. It’ just interesting how perceptions evolve over the years.
That’s my last 2 cents on that issue…

Some of the comments thus far have really crossed the line of constructive criticism, and are in the territory of vitriol and hate. Someone referred to them as monsters, somebody else as whales, and there was a host of other hateful terms used to describe them. You don’t have to criticize these women by calling them names. Its very unnecessary and judgmental, since no can claim to be a bastion of physical perfection. The thing with weight loss is this. You have to get your mind right, before you can get your body right, and that is what I believe Mo’Nique is attempting to do with her show.

I join a women fitness club and know that it works,because us overweight women can take our money and put it on everything that’s not important but we should put it on {health foods,gyms,exercise equipments} and not the things that will hurt us in life. I not critisizing or judging just trying to give a lil advice of living a longer healthier life.We all no that our critics study charts already shows that Afro Americans suffer more with health promblems and #1 cause of our death. I will continue to pray for every one and hope that who ever this message is for,that you take heed to what I’m saying and make a change in your life. I would like to say that this was a good idea. I am grateful that you are trying to boost the BIG girls self esteem up. But I have a problem with your last year episode. I feel that you didn’t allow the right girl to win. I feel that the lady that won shouldn’t have won. She wasn’t even a FAT girl. She didn’t have enough meat on her bones.
