You know its funny how people say, Oh, she can’t solo sing. Untrue, when she competed in Star Search against one of her former DC Child Group Members (I will not mention this person’s name because people seem to go crazy at the mention of her name, and I don’t want the subject to shift from Kelly to her), she won the contest each time. I believe that both of these young women have proven to themselves. So the fact that she won not once, but twice says she has what it takes, but it also takes promotion, promotion, promotion. A horrible artist can push CDs with the right promotion….So….I hope things go well for her.

It’s a shame people doubt Kelly so much. I’ve always been a D.C fan, and Kelly’s voice has always been amazing. Seeing D.C in concert in 2005 really showed me that Kelly had what it takes to step out and be a solo star. During her segment her voice really shined through. The BET Awards performance definitely didn’t do her justice. How can she ever “get out of Beyonce’s spotlight”, if people won’t allow her to?? It’s like people are stuck in calling her backup without even supporting her as an artist or at least taking the time to see what she’s about. Blogs such as these have shaped people’s minds so bad, that people associate Kelly with these things. Don’t let the media be all the hype. Especially certain blogs that are hateful. You don’t have to be her number one fan but if you would take the time to see what she’s about. Then you can give an honest opinion of what you think of her. Go Kelly.

Kelly’s album is BORING!!! Everything pretty much sounds to the same. After several listens there wasn’t one song that I thought had any sort of staying power. And in my opinion that’s what’s wrong with music today. No one is trying to make timeless music. Everyone is trying to make right now music. Don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing wrong with a song that’s not that deep that makes you want to sing along. (Lipgloss was catchy as hell and I still find myself singing it everytime I put on lipgloss.) The thing that bothers me is that you have singers with REAL TALENT (like Kelly) putting out music that doesn’t show her true talent. Kelly, to me, has the persona and the voice to be a singer who could make a record that we could be singing years from now.

I’m no Kelly stan. I’m just saying that she and a lot of other artists have the potential to make music that we will be singing for years to come.

And in case you’re wondering, I thought B’day was boring as hell too.

I think her album is really good. I think the problem with it is exactly the opposite of what #59 is saying. Most of the songs on the album you have to sit down and listen to the lyrics. It’s not an album you’re gonna pop in and start shaking your ass to like a B-Day for example. You couldn’t care less what Beyonce is talking about in half those songs as long as the beats bump hard and Beyonce’s voice rides the track well. Same thing with Rihanna’s recent album. Kelly’s album has real lyrical content. People aren’t in the mood for that so her camp is releasing the songs they think are bangers and they happen to be the weaker ones on the album.

Note: I AM NOT HATING ON B-DAY. I BOUGHT IT AND LIKE IT. But even stans have to admit substance is missing from most of the songs.

Am I the only one that doesn’t like what she’s wearing? Maybe if she showed a little skin and showed a sexier side she would gain more attention. I don’t mean she has to get damn near butt naked, but she has a nice shape so she should maybe show it off a little bit more.

Kelly can sing and all but she really needs to “bring it.” Maybe she should do like Beyonce and find herself an alter ego so that she’s not so boring when she’s performing. She holds back too much.

Nothing sets her apart for the rest, except for the fact that she use to be a member of of Destiny’s Child(big whoop!). She needs attention! All those soft acts are boring.
