Yahoo launch premiered our girl Chrisette Michelle’s new video for “Best Of Me”. I really dig the smooth and calmness of this track, her voice sounds beautiful. The video is very cool and breezy along with it.
I recommend that you pick up her album “I Am” if you want to hear something more soulful than the boom boom rump that’s played on the radio right now…
The Annual Essence Music Festival has began and its back in New Orleans after the Hurricane Katrina disaster put a halt on it last year. Last night’s headliners included Ciara, Ludacris, and Ronald Isley along with guest speaker Barack Obama.
The festival will continue today and Saturday with performances coming from Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Robin Thicke, Kelly Rowland and many more.
So, a couple of days ago, I posted a new J. Lo snippet for her new single, “Wrong When You’re Gone.” And I remember, “Hey! My girl Keri wrote and recorded this song!” I’ll admit, automatically, I was a little bias - because I am absolutely in love with Keri’s voice and I think she’s a great writer. And usually, my thought process is that the first person that did it, usually does it better. The thing is, we know that there are few people that J. Lo fools with in the industry on a vocal level - so, to me, it’s not contest. But I’d like to know what the readers think. Who sang it better? Keri Hilson or Jennifer Lopez? I think I know who’s gonna get this one…

The wife of comedian Wayne Brady has filed for divorce. Mandie Brady cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for ending their marriage, according to court documents filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court. Nicole makes her first splash onto the solo scene with her first single, “Whatever You Like,” featuring T.I. I’m a little surprised that this was the same production from the Chilli song that I posted a couple months ago. Although, something about Nicole’s version just makes me go crazy. I first heard this song in a club, and I think that’s what cranked me up. I think that this will really go off on the radio, I think. Especially with production from the infamous Polow Da Don and lyrics pinned by Sean Garrett. Lately, they’ve been doing everything for everyone. I’m excited for Nicole’s debut, Her Name Is Nicole, which is due out September. Nicole has productions from Will.I.Am, Pharrell Williams and Timbaland. She’s pulled everyone for this record.
