I actually like this song better than Umbrella or Drive. The video is a lot of fun, and it should do well in the clubs. But didn’t she just release Drive like last week? I’m confused. 3 albums in 2 years and people aren’t crying “overexposed”? I saw her live performance of this song (”Music”) over at that Live Earth event. It wasn’t pretty — she really has no stage presence. Maybe that’s something she can work on. She does have the model looks; it’s good she’s making cash from endorsements because her album isn’t selling well yet, even with her label giving her incredible push.

I actually like this song.. i think it’s cute. Her album is okay, it’s just good ol’ fashion pop music. It’s very disposable, I can’t imagine returning to any of the songs a year from now, but since she has a new album every week I’m sure she’ll keep her fans satifised. I do like her new look, but it’s just so clearly contrived it’s a little to much overkill. You don’t get a sense from her that there’s anything authentic about it…it’s a little to much. It’s amazing to me how this shifted again from Rihanna to Beyonce vs. Rihanna. I think Rihanna’s pics are HOT, and for the record, Rihanna is close to making history in the UK for remaining in the number one slot for a long period of time.

I like Rihanna BUT she aint gonna replace Ciara or Beyonce like some people think. Rihanna relies to much on style and image for her to have loyal fans. Both Ciara and Beyonce are “manufactured” in some ways, but they both can produce great performances. I have yet to be impressed with one of Rihanna’s performances. Sure she sounds decent and her dancing is “cute”, but she doesnt BRING IT! Its like she is bored or something.
