1st off if you watched the show you would understand that the list wasn’t based just on lyrics. It was a couple of things….lyrics….star power….swag….and some other shit they came up with. i dunno how anybody can say lil wayne is not the hottest dude in the game right now. everything he’s on he completely murders….ridiculously. he might not have the content of say…common but that wasn’t what the list was…it wasn’t the 10 top lyricists out right now.

Artists like Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Jim Jones and so many unlisted here could care less about the art of an MC or Hip Hop music…can’t you tell by their lyrics and the messages they send out, it’s all the same. Unlike artists like Talib and Rhymefest, Mos Def and The Roots who are actually saying something can’t get any airtime on a network. Overall, it all about doing whatever it takes to line their pockets.

The majority of the artists you see on the list only care about the amount of money their as well as MTV. Some folks will see this list and will buy their albums just because a popular network selected the artists. It’s all about promoting one another and both parties getting a check. If the music industry wasn’t giving people millions for some lyrics, they would not be rapping…trust me. So you can’t help but take this list, MTV or few of the artists unserious because they only do for the money, not for the love of music.
