Check out Serena Williams getting her pose on in the annual Body Issue of Jane Magazine. The Tennis player rocked silver Moschino pumps and a hand full of flowers for the shoot. Other celebs who took it off for the mag included Eva Mendes & Joss Stone.
Here is what Serena’s caption said:

Once I was getting ready to go out and my hitting partner, who is my best friend and, like, Greek god – handsome, walked into my hotel room, it wasn’t awkward for me, but he freaked out.

I bet half the people saying that she looks manly haven’t played sports. I don’t say this as a dig, but that it is probably harder for them to appreciate her amazing body. It is a tasteful picture, and I dont think she’s selling out since she took these picture FOR CHARITY! Personally I would rather look at Serena’s broad shoulders that these fat filled, cottage cheese looking asses that some of you are trying to pass off as being “thick”
That being said, I’m not feeling the shoes, I think that a higher (or even thinner) heel would have helped make her legs look longer.
I think this is the best she can look, and she knows it and is proud of it.
I need to read this issue, but so far I’m disappointed.

It’s nice to see that she’s comfortable in her own skin. Lord know she doesn’t have the type of body or looks that are typically revered in our society (just look at some of the comments here). I think it’s great that she’s confident with who she is. Sometimes when people don’t like the way you look or appreciate the body you have they expect you to just crawl under a rock and die. There almost appalled to see you proud of yourself and angry that your unaffected by their taunts. I have a more “typical” feminine body type, so I don’t know what it’s like to constantly be called a man or fat or any of those other things, but I can imagine what that does to a person. I’m sure Serena has heard a lot about her body, her face and her skin complexion her whole life and its great to see that she clearly can cares less and feels beautiful, as she should. Her body is a well oiled machine that comes from years of hard work and training. When you compare that with the bodies were rever that are often a result of starvation and plasitic surgery, Serena has much more to be proud of and admired for!
