Not really seeing where Jenny Lo is trying to go with this song. What’s funny is, it seems like something that would have been on Amerie’s Because I Love It for some reason. The song is just really funny because, well, she really just can’t sing a lick. This arrangement really requires and calls for a little bit of vocal ability that I just don’t think J. Lo can provide. This is the rumored single. We’ll see.

J. Holiday is definitely coming hard with “Bed” on the radio from his debut album, Back of My Lac, which has a tentative release date of October 2, according to poster snipes that I’ve seen all over polls here in Atlanta. I think that “Bed” definitely came at the right time, because it is more unique than any of the other material that I’ve heard from J. Holiday. This song is fun, but it doesn’t really strike me or hit as hard as “Bed” did.

I think that pretty much we have sort of gathered that the image they’re going with for Mr. Kingston is that of a boy that just can’t get any girls. Although it’s a very new approach, and it’s working, does anybody think there’s anything a little… pathetic about it besides me? I think it’s fun, and like I said, it’s a great new marketing approach, but it’s just funny to me, because of how they’re portraying him. “Got No Shorty” is fun, and it’s slated to be the second single from his debut album.

I’ve been eager to hear what else Chris Brown had in store for us on this new album, Exclusive. “Take U Down” is really jamming, because it has that sort of Prince-ish feel to it that I like. His voice sounds wonderful, it floats over this Underdog’s production very well. I’m actually excited about this album. If Chris can get over the sophomore slump, and make his way out of the woods safely, I’ll be glad. ‘Cause all the hype they gave him around his first album won’t be in vain.
That Sean Kingston is pretty good, got that Outkast, Rihanna Sound, he might just blow up
Jennifer Lopez – I guess I’m in the minority here…I actually like this sample. She always makes good dance tracks, or at least to me (except from the Ben/This is Me Then era….*shudders*). This doesn’t sound anything like an Amerie song, and J-Lo’s voice isn’t as bad as some of you say it is. Paula Abdul didn’t exactly have the best voice either, but in her prime, she still managed to sell a lot of records. This song sounds like typical J-Lo, so I hope it does well.
J. Holiday – Overrated. He’s a decent singer, I guess, and while I like “Bed”, his songs are typical R&B. Any singer can sing his songs and have already.
Sean Kingston – Wow. I’m in sheer amazement. This guy has absolutely no talent to be found. None. What’s his appeal? He’s fat and unattractive. If you’re gonna be talentless, at least be hot with decent dance moves. He’s a bore and he is one-hit-wonder destined. I’ll be forgetting about him next week,
Chris Brown – Bland. This was one of the better Chris Brown songs I’ve heard, but I don’t really like it. His voice is fairly average. There’s nothing unique about it and it’s replaceable. Oh well, I guess I’m too old to like Chris Brown’s songs. That and I don’t think he’s marketed towards guys anyway.
