THE ROUND UP: KIM PORTER | DAVE CHAPPELLE | QUEEN LATIFAH | MICHAEL VICK

KIM PORTER ABOUT TO GET PAID?

5980551718200770505am.jpg

Well according to celebrity attorneys, she should be. Porter – who has had three children with Diddy may be looking to receive $1.2 million a year:

“With Misa Hylton-Brim receiving approximately $30,000 a month, there is no reason that Ms. Porter shouldn’t be able to get close to $100,000 or more per month in child support,” celebrity divorce lawyer Raoul Felder told Page Six. “That amount accounts for Porter having three children with Combs and inflation in the years since Misa received the ruling in her case.

That’s right Diddy, fix ya face and open that wallet…

DAVE CHAPPELLE HOSPITALIZED OVER THE WEEKEND

6016622718200770457am.jpg

Dave Chappelle was rushed to the hospital over the weekend for physical exhaustion. He stayed at an unnamed facility for 12 hours before he was finally sent home.

Earlier reports stated that he was entering the hospital due to drug abuse after callers to a DC radio station mentioned he was entering rehab. However, Chappelle’s rep corrected this rumor to TMZ. Dave has been currently on tour doing stand up gigs.

QUEEN LATIFAH’S FAT BURGER

14437739718200770409am.jpg

Queen Latifah is set to open her own FatBurger joint in Miami this year. The rapper turned actress is working aside others behind South Beach’s new fast-food franchise, and admits it has been her dream for years.

I’ve never even heard of this place, but if Latifah is behind it I’ll check it out. Be sure to check her out in “Hairspray” which hits theaters this weekend.

DOGGY DOG WORLD

9663110718200770513am.jpg

Star athlete Michael Vick was indicted federal charges operating illegal and brutal dogfighting on his property:

Vick was charged with illegal competitive dogfighting, which involves training pit bulls to fight against other dogs. When authorities searched Vick’s property this month, they found 54 pit bulls and a host of brutal items including a “rape stand,” used to hold dogs in place for mating; an electric treadmill modified for dogs and a bloodied piece of carpeting.

Graves of seven pit bulls were found inside “Bad Newz Kennels,” a Virginia property owned by Vick. The dogs were allegedly killed after testing whether they would be good fighters. According to documents, dogfights would end when one dog died or backed down, and dogs were sometimes put to death by drowning, strangulation, hanging, gunshot, electrocution or some other method.

What a damn waste. If convicted, he could face up to six years in prison and $350,000 in fines or major punishment from the NFL.

  1. @1Tammy ~ Where did I say that you said the police were wrongly charging him. Why don’t you learn how to fucking read. You did say that the media blows thing out of proportion and I agree with that, but in this case I think he is guilty and I don’t mind saying so. I’m sure Mikey is sleeping well at night knowing he’s got a cheerleader like you. Go eat a fucking sprout and STFU!

  2. @ #170

What do your comments have to do with Diddy’s situation? Who said he wasn’t a good father? Kim is the one that decided to leave it’s not like he left her with all the kids. Granted he may not have been the best boyfriend in the world but how do you know anything about the type of father he is? Just because he’s paying child support doesn’t mean that’s ALL he’s doing. And furthermore as I’ve mentioned in my last post (see #143) if these rich men dont have a problem taking care of their children AND their baby momma’s then what does it matter to you? Paul Mooney said it best, Americans are so fake. We love to talk about what everbody else is doing, knowing damn well that most of us are doing the same thing or WOULD do the same thing in that given situation. With that said, if YOU would happen to get knocked up by a very wealthy man and things HAPPEN to not work out and he was ordered to pay child support…I dont believe you would be at courthouse asking to recieve less money. Keep it funky…

@157 ~” Actually what 1Tammy implied is that the police are wrongly targeting him.” You didn’t say what?? huh?? lol .. Anyhoo you’re boring now ,your just typing to type so bye bye

  4. What the hell is some of u talkin about Vick being a target cause he’s black? bullshit, ya’ll gotta pull the race card on everything. He’s guilty cause he did some fucked up shit, period.

  5. hassan

well the dude should have known better to go raw on some chic that he dont even love. its child support but they should change it to whole family support seriously!! Dave Chappelle come back mannnnnnnnnn!! is queen latifah gay or what???

  6. @174

Does the court system fail the poor, the rich, both, or all. That’s the first time you’ve referred to the court system at all without letting your hatred for this man blind your opinion. You seem to be the one that’s blinded by celebrity. People kill me with that, “it’s a class thing, not a color thing” nonsense. I don’t care about celebrities, give me the statistics on the 99% of people that are average and then the truth will come out. No one is proving anything by saying that O.J. and Michael Jackson got off, so it’s a money thing not a race thing. The powers that be put certain blacks in an influential position to mesmerize people like you sis and get you caught up in that “rat race” mentality of “if I get this money I’ll be accepted”.

No I don’t have any thoughts on his innocence or guilt because his life may not matter to you but the lives of my people matter to me. If he’s guilty then he should be punished according to the laws of the land. Do you know that a white man told me and my brothers that of the last 1000 men to be released from prison due to DNA evidence, 98.6% were black. Now this was back in 2005 and I’m not sure what pool he drew this statistic from but it still speaks volumes on the lack of credibility of the media, court, and prison systems. Every other day when I read the newspaper, another black man is being freed from prison after having 10,15,20 years wasted away in prison due to a DNA exoneration.

    @175

Michael Jordan had mistressES of all different races sis. It’s not just about him getting a white girl. The sanctity of marriage was never really valued since the inception of this country. It’s been ripped to shreds for purposes of population control. Marriage has been romanticized in this country to the point that people don’t even respect the order aspects of marriage. That’s why the elders could stay married for 50 and 60 years. They respected the order.

    @177, 180

Word up. Most black people have become 2-dimensional thinkers. They only respond to what is directly in front of their limited scope of understanding.

  7. @1Tammy ~ When did “charging” and “targeting” become the same thing? Mike did some fucked up shit and you’re making it sound like the police are “targeting” him because he’s a black celebrity. Whether or not that’s what you meant when you said that, that’s what I took away from the comment. They are “targeting” him because he did some fucked up shit. Bottom line!

@Judas ~ It is definitely a celebrity thing. Like someone above mentioned, do you really think the NFL is gonna let him go to jail for this? Who cares if he can play ball, he tortures animals! It takes a sick, twisted person to do that.

  8. @187

Lmao. You don’t have anything insightful to say so you choose to try to say something inciteful. What a buffoon. I think a dog just got hit by a car, shouldn’t you be somewhere attempting suicide?

  9. and what?

JUDAH AND 1TAMMY BOTH OF YOU HAVE SOME FUCKED OF VIEWS ON LIFE . BUT YOU CALL OTHERS SIMPLETONS AND IDIOTS .GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK . ANIMAL ABUSE IS WRONG . BUT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE A BLACK/WHITE ISSUE WITH SOME OF YOU . AND WHAT THE HELL VEGETARIANS GOT TO DO WITH ANY OF THIS . JUST FINDING STUPID SHIT TO DEBATE ABOUT .AND YOU WONDER WHY WE ARE SET BACK 100 YEARS .HMMP

  10. @ Judas ~ So when you’re having a discussion with someone who doesn’t share you views, you call them names? Grow up. What does insight have to do with right and wrong? I think it’s wrong to train dogs to kill other dogs so their owners can make money and you think it’s ok. That’s your opinion. Between you 1Tammy protesting his innocence, he’s definitely gonna walk away from this untarnished. Maybe he’ll give you two a shout out at his next game :)

  11. CMEEZ, to provide you with a response, if you noticed, I said SOME of the posts. I never said he wasn’t a good father. I said he wasn’t taking care of them, i.e. not being there with the kids physically. Another person in this forum said it best, no amount of money will ever take the place of a two parent household. To make it personal, my father was a “financial father”, my mother didn’t keep my sister and myself from him, HE CHOSE NOT TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND HANDLE HIS RESPONSIBILITY!!My response was to the people who said, “She’s about to get paid”, “She deserves the money” etc. My post said What do your comments have to do with Diddy’s situation? _________________

You’re right Judah, is was not necessarily about his having a white mistress, any unfaithfulness is a problem, but it is suggested that he really loved this one particular mistress and but for his trying to maintain a certain image, he would have preferred to marry her – Whether this country has romanticized marriage to the point of disrespect or not is no excuse for individual understanding and commitment.

The elders and couples that stay married did so and do so, because they worked on staying together. Society might bear some influence, but grown folk need to be accountable for their individual choices and behavior.

  14. CMEEZ, to provide you with a response, if you noticed, I said SOME of the posts. The post I made was commenting on the folks saying, “She deserves to get paid” “She deserves this and that” The ONLY thing she deserves is to have her children’s father be financially viable as well as being there emotionally, mentally, and physically for his children. The overall issue is not Ms. Porter and Mr. Combs it’s about some people’s mindset about child support. Let me guess you’re one of those folks who thinks money is the only thing needed to raise a child right? Again, I never said he wasn’t a good father. What I did say is he wasn’t taking care of them, i.e. not being there with the kids physically, emotionally, etc.

Another person in this forum said it best, no amount of money will ever take the place of a two parent household. To make it personal, my father was a “financial father”, my mother didn’t keep my sister and myself from him, his decision was based upon, well I pay for them so that’s all I need to do. Unfortunately this is what some men and women think when it comes to taking care of their childen.

In response to your statement, “Just because he’s paying child support doesn’t mean that’s ALL he’s doing. And furthermore as I’ve mentioned in my last post (see #143) if these rich men dont have a problem taking care of their children AND their baby momma’s then what does it matter to you?” I actually find this funny thanks for the laugh. I’m just wondering have you ever seen Mr. Combs out and about with his kids except when its a publicity stunt…i.e. Essence Magazine, the video he released regarding the forthcoming pregancy? I’m just calling at it’s presented to me.

To remind you, this is an open forum for people to give their opinions on a given topic. We all are entitled to our opinion just as you are entitled to yours. However maybe you should ask yourself the same question, “What does it matter to you?” I see you are posting right long with the rest of us. I guess it matters to you as well.

Oh here’s another statement that’s funny, “With that said, if YOU would happen to get knocked up by a very wealthy man and things HAPPEN to not work out and he was ordered to pay child support…I dont believe you would be at courthouse asking to recieve less money.” First and foremost, I woudn’t simply get “knocked up”. I am not having any children without the marriage FIRST! So many people put the cart before the horse. Again if that’s what SOME people CHOOSE to do that is their right. It’s not my choice. To reiterate, my father was just a financial father and I know what its like not to have a father around because he thinks child support is all that is needed; so no I wouldn’t be seeking a bunch of money just because I can. I would much rather have my FORMER HUSBAND have as much quality time with my child as I do. It’s more important for me to have well-rounded child with BOTH parents playing an ACTIVE role in his/her life, not just being active in a bank account.

Allbeit the reason why some of these women are awarded so much money is because of the income level of their child’s father. Since YOU want to keep it funky, the average mother/father does not receive all of this money that some of these women are receiving. Let’s talk real talk and real people…outside of the celebrity spotlight. Trust me the custodial parent needs the financial support to help with the needs of the child however financial support does not equal overrall support and overall well-being for the child.

Im just curious, who did you grow up with? How’s your relationship with your father? I can’t be upset at your naivety to the issue of fathers/mothers and child support so you can inform yourself a little more check out this website: http://www.nfi.org
(National Fatherhood Initiative) Check it and let me know what you think.

lmao @ Vegas still typing a bunch of nothing . Damn, I have worked a full day ate a meal and you are still here ? We got how you feel about Mike ! So why do you keep saying the same damn thing? Your very first post 100+ post ago told us the same thing you’ve been saying all damn day . You truly have no purpose ! What a waste of semen.

  16. Judah, half of what you said was well-worded, red herring garbage not worth responding to and you know it.

I’m not going to enter into another race/sexual/religious debate with you. We’ve done this dance to many times to count. It’s pointless, and naturally slanted in your favor when you can write up four paragraphs based on conjecture, you OWN twisting of the facts, and no real proof. You can’t argue with a man who always has “Well, that’s the WHITE MAN’S facts!” to fall back on like a coward (yes, coward). A true discussion of race issues in the United States could NEVER be had with you, because you’re never willing to listen. You already know it all, and all the overwhelming evidence against you is just false implants by the white man to throw people off the real truth—a truth, I might add, that only you ever seem to be privy to despite the fact that you live in this country and must be doing SOMETHING to be able to sit in front of a computer screen and type novella-length posts…you know, like the rest of us peons. You know, the mark of a true conspiracy theorist lies in how they respond to opposition, whether they can back up their ideas with sound, provocative evidence or if they instead hide behind a wall of “Well, that was PLANTED there by the WHITE MAN. This is a conspiracy going back hundreds of years!” Judah, the truth is you have nothing edifying at all to say on this subject, and this is just an attempt on your part to steer the topic to the subjects you know the most about. Or, should I say, can type the most about.

Again, this is not a race issue. And no I’m not comparing Michael Vick to Chris Benoit, merely refuting your bogus “point” on the portrayal of black people in the media. I used Benoit because the story was current. I could just as easily use another story—Paris Hilton going to jail for violating her probation, for example. If you followed any major news source, you’d think that’s ALL that happened those agonizingly long three weeks. You’ve done nothing to bust my point that the media in this country is the closest thing we have to racial neutrality, their vulture-like mentality will draw them to ANYTHING that’ll make a public splash (then again, NONE of this is really the point).

And oh yeah yeah yeah, more “white people are the devil they imperialize and spread conflict all over the world rape women children and babies and killed my pet dog fluffy when I was a kid!” We’ve done this before. I get it, we get it. The only person here who doesn’t get it is you. You would honestly try to have everyone here believe that every non-white race was honest and good until the white man came and corrupted us all. ALL men are capable of evil, and ALL have committed it at some point in time. The Koreans hate the Japanese; China hates the Koreans AND the Japanese; Korea hates ITSELF; India and Pakistan are in the middle of a mini arms race and everyone’s a tiny bit afraid that Russia’s ready for a round two of the Cold War; Mexico and Honduras aren’t getting along, Africa is in turmoil from WITHIN right now and, damnit, every Islamic nation with the exception of Turkey probably wouldn’t mind if we woke up tomorrow and Israel was just a big crater surrounding the holy city. Not to mention pretty much EVERYONE hates the Kurds. You can list every conflict that had to do with the white man all you want and try to claim it means something that it doesn’t. But, Judah, what you fail to realize (or what you just don’t want other people to realize), is that the history of the PLANET is rife with conflict, and a white man in a business suit and greedy intentions is not always the one behind it. Then again, I just KNOW you’re about to spend a few hours concocting a way of trying to convince me of otherwise without providing a single fact. Here we go…

So let’s take it back to the actual subject here, you know—the one that has to do with several men accused of hosting and supporting a massive illegal dog fighting ring? The subject you have so eloquently avoided up to this point. You know what? Let’s not. I’ve said what I had to say on that and until you actually, you know, RESPOND to it there’s not much more for us to exchange.

(P.S. The fact that you stooped to making an “ur-anus” joke pretty much strips you of your right to call anyone out on how they respond to people and the language they use. I mean, really…)

(P.P.S. Woooow, you have some nerve to claim that most black people are 2-dimensional thinkers and sheep…right before you tried to pass off a statistic you heard from some random white man about DNA exonerations and try to use it to challenge the credibility of media and government.. Of the last 1000 people freed? Fool, there haven’t even been 500 people freed yet. And the stats of the racial make-up of that list isn’t accurate, either. A quick Google search could have told you that much…then again, you HAVE always had a problem with fact checking. And I’M the one accused of taking a white man’s word as law? Damn, some white guy tells you this and you don’t even bother with doing the research…)

  17. “Let me guess you’re one of those folks who think money is the only thing needed to raise a child right? Again, I never said he wasn’t a good father. What I did say is he wasn’t taking care of them, i.e. not being there with the kids physically, emotionally, etc.”

What in my post led you to believe that money is the only thing I thought necessary to raise a child? I never said anything like that. That was a huge baseless assumption. Your bad. And last time I checked, “not being there with the kids physically, emotionally, etc.” does not equal being a good father. So you may want to re-check your own logic on that one. And again how do YOU know what type of father he is? Do you live next door? Are you the nanny for the twins? I’m so confused. There are lots of celebrities that aren’t seen with their children. That doesn’t mean they are not good parents. Perhaps they choose to keep their children out of the spotlight.

“To remind you, this is an open forum for people to give their opinions on a given topic. We all are entitled to our opinion just as you are entitled to yours. However maybe you should ask yourself the same question, “What does it matter to you?” I see you are posting right long with the rest of us. I guess it matters to you as well.”

You are stating the obvious and still missing the point. Of course we are all here stating our opinion. My issue us when people get super adamant about a situation that they really don’t know about. You are on the blog making statements about their situation and presenting them like it’s the gospel. When people do that it just comes off as hate, IMO.

“Oh here’s another statement that’s funny, “With that said, if YOU would happen to get knocked up by a very wealthy man and things HAPPEN to not work out and he was ordered to pay child support…I don’t believe you would be at courthouse asking to receive less money.” First and foremost, I wouldn’t simply get “knocked up”. I am not having any children without the marriage FIRST! So many people put the cart before the horse. Again if that’s what SOME people CHOOSE to do that is their right. It’s not my choice.”

The only thing that’s funny is the fact that my lingo apparently scrambled your brain a bit. For the record “knocked up” means getting pregnant. And you can achieve this with a jump-off, your fiancé, or your husband. The only thing that marriage will POSSIBLY guarantee you is an alimony check to go along with the child support. So yes it’s very funny that you think that you could be exempt from this situation because you would be married.

“Allbeit the reason why some of these women are awarded so much money is because of the income level of their child’s father. Since YOU want to keep it funky, the average mother/father does not receive all of this money that some of these women are receiving. Let’s talk real talk and real people…outside of the celebrity spotlight. Trust me the custodial parent needs the financial support to help with the needs of the child however financial support does not equal overrall support and overall well-being for the child.”

Again you are preaching to the choir. I mean what breathing creature with half a brain doesn’t know that Kim would receive more child support than your average single parent? The post was about Kim and Diddy, and that’s why I asked you what your comments had to do with them because it just seemed irrelevant. .I just feel like you are judging someone else based on your own personal experience and you can’t do that. For one, as I’ve stated before you DON’T KNOW Diddy and Kim’s situation. And #2 you are talking about people who live a completely different lifestyle than you and I. You are truly the naïve one if you think that little punk $100K per month is putting a dent in his pockets.

“I can’t be upset at your naivety to the issue of fathers/mothers and child support so you can inform yourself a little more check out this website: http://www.nfi.org
(National Fatherhood Initiative) Check it and let me know what you think.”

No offense but you can miss me with the website information. (But since we are keeping it funky, I did click on it just for the hell of it and led me to a site about seafood—you may want to check on that) I don’t need to educate myself on things that I witness day in and day out. I see single parents where the parents aren’t together but they are still equally involved both physically and financially. I see “financial” fathers. And I see situations where the father is there for the child physically but is either unable or unwilling to provide financially. And that is not fair to the mother or the child. And of course you have the situations where the man is just absent period. Therefore, you seem to be seeing things only from your standpoint as a child who did not have a father physically in her life. And I get that. But please believe there is another side to that. It’s the side of a single mother having to do EVERYTHING by herself and it’s not fun. So though your father wasn’t there, your mother was receiving some type of help. And believe me that’s more than some people get. And I mean this in the kindest way: if your father was the type of man that would walk away from his own flesh and blood then you were probably better off without his influence in your life.

My point is that I feel that people are unfairly judging Kim for getting the amount of chid support she gets or is entitled to by the law. What, because she happened to have kids by a wealthy man she should be penalized? That makes no sense to me and it sounds like a bunch of hate. And my main point (as stated before) is if he doesn’t have a problem with it, then why should you? I know regular men who are not with their children’s mother but they WILLINGLY pay child support AND take care of the mothers, just because these are the mothers of their children and they want to make sure that they don’t have to struggle or want for anything. Now what is wrong with that? And again, what’s it to you?

  18. @196

You could’ve shortened that shit by about two paragraphs, straight up. Lol. You have alot of pent up anger and frustration. The real fact of the matter is that what I believe is not based on skewed facts or conspiracy. It’s based on the Word of the Lord which frustrates you because you can’t twist that. The only pertinent thing you’ve said is that we’ve had this conversation before. I can tell that you were on the debate team or something because you’re constantly talking about “getting people to believe” or “who agrees with who more”, lol. That’s a weakness of character to be concerned with who agrees with you and that being a barometer for correctness. That’s how I know that you’re not really someone who stands for anything substantial, because you’re fixated on the court of public opinion. Most of the people disagreed with Christ and the men of the scriptures. I’m not a politician. It’s a spiritual debate that we’re having, not a literal one. You subscribe to the tenets of Satan, which is that spirit of confusion. You know that but don’t want to admit it. Your motivation is to build up this land, I’m waiting for Christ to tear it down. So thusly, there’s no way that we can really constructively converse or agree.

If I’m a coward, then you must define cowardice. If a coward is someone who wants to build his people up instead of “all people” then I’m that. I’m not really concerned about the feelings of others when those others are not concerned about me and mine. Blacks, especially heterosexual black men, are the only people on earth who are expected to not seek righteous judgement. This is why whites consistently confound black people, because it’s common knowledge that the black mind has been trained (like a dog) not to bite the hand that feeds it. You must understand, I don’t hate anyone like the average person hates, which is emotionally. It’s according to knowledge. A wise man doesn’t hate a cobra, but he knows that if he deals with a cobra he will be poisoned.

In regards to the issue with the white man and you trying to compare wars or conflicts between countries and races with what the caucasian has done (by his own admission) worldwide, only highlights my previous point about your infatuation with this man. Next you’ll say the Crips and Bloods are equivalent to the Age of Imperialism and Manifest Destiny. Knock yourself out. Whatever empire was in power was wicked because they ruled in accordance to Satan, whether it was Egypt, Babylon, Persia, Greece, or Rome. It has nothing to do with color. See I speak with such confidence because of the prophecies of the Bible. You arguing with me is like you trying to tell me what ‘s going to happen in a movie that you’ve never seen but I’ve read the script. At the end of the day, it’s not that big a deal. We’ll see who’s right and who’s wrong. That’s why Christ said that there’ll be a “wailing and gnashing of teeth” because the dreams and motivations of the people that love this world will be destroyed.

How have I avoided the subject at hand? I said that the brothers deserve their day in court, and if found guilty, they should be penalized according to the laws of the land. What would you like me to say, “Hang em high!”. Would you like them castrated because their all not homosexuals? Negro please.

All that shit that you wrote, and the only real point you made was about the DNA evidence (allegedly), everything else was conjecture and vain opinion, lol. I meant to type 100, unfortunately I make typos. Either way I don’t stress most of these statistics. That’s why I said in my original post that I don’t know what pool they drew that statistic from that that man recited. I go by what the Spirit of the Lord shows me. For example a common stat that’s propagated is that there are more black men in prison than in college. A man doing research for a book on Black Male Myths brought out that the pool used for that statistc was adulterated. The “researchers” graded how many black men were in college, aged 18-24 against black men in prison age 18-57, lol. The scripture tells you that one of the curses on our people would be wrongful imprisonment (Psa 79:10,11, Isa 42:22). So I go with stats that back up the the scripture. I know you don’t understand that, lol.

I’m very sleepy right now. Today, I think I’ll go over our phone numbers with my son to make sure he knows them in case an emergency comes up. I need to go pick up some toilet tissue too.
