The situation with Vick, I see it as simple as this, when you get money or come up, family looks for you to help out. Vick was smiply helping out family, and got caught up. That house he had his nephew living in was very nice, especially for someone who probably didn’t hold down a job to even pay the bills. The only reason they went to that house was because his nephew got caught up in some drug business, and the police were looking for him. Sometimes, when you get up in higher places, you have to cut some family and friends loose if they have any potential to bring you down.

I hear ya Pittbboi and I do see where Tammy is coming from although I don’t agree with everything. I will say that there is a difference in someone choosing to torture an animal for fun and what the meat industry represents.

For all intents and purposes, the meat industry is there to serve the public. There are supposed to be laws in place to protect the animals but unfortunately, when there are people in control and feel that they have power over an innocent creature, they are going to abuse it. The meat industry in its entirety should not be viewed as something bad. It is peoples intentions that make it bad. And, I do agree that the very food we eat has been sadly tortured but there is a difference (while it is a real thin line) between what people like Vick has “supposedly” done and the proccess by which an animal is killed to serve as food. The killing proccess is supposed to be humane when it comes to the food industry but like I said it is a real gray area because no matter how you slice it, no pun intended, is not a pretty sight nor is it like dying in your sleep and drifting up towards the heavens. Antime an animal is killed for whatever purpose, it is borderline torture because they did not die of natural causes.
Dog fighting is just morbid. To watch an animal fight until it can’t anymore is just sick just as it is when a man stomps on a chicken for fun and then it is served on our plates. It is how the individual chooses to treat that animal that is under their control. I hope I am not contradicting myself. Just trying to make my point that all of you guys have a point to what you are saying and that it the situations are difficult to compair.
You have to look at the people and their intentions behind the power they feel they have.

Well, if you’re the same person I remember from that current events post, you probably do get it but don’t want to say. First off, we know that Al Sharpton and Russell Simmons are a part of the white man’s black community defense system. They defend the elite white community from the blacks and they also stop blacks from addressing the real community issues. Now the children really do look to these people as “gods”. They’re both masons, which means that their true allegiance always has been and always will be with the “brotherhood”. That’s why the white man funnels all the racial situations (i.e. Don Imus, Michael “Kramer” Richards) through Sharpton and Messy Jesse Jackson. They clean that shit up for him real good.

I believe that this vendetta against Vick is really about him not wanting to “get down with the program” (i.e. become a bisexual) like so many black entertainers and athletes have. I could be wrong, but these type of things are intuitive. There’s no real way to prove or disprove. It’s funny that you bring up that animal cruelty law, because I was just thinking about how many laws are being drafted, passed, and amended in these last days. The white man has what he considers “white crimes” (i.e. money laundering, embezzlement, pedophilia) and he has “black crimes” (i.e. drug distribution, illegal gun possession, etc.). Dog-fighting, cockfighting, etc.; these are black/minority crimes. This is why so many laws are being altered, so that they can pursue these young black men with more vigilance (Psa 94:20). Yeah it’s me from the Current Events post. You made some great points about Al, Jesse, and Russell. I don’t know the real reason why they are going after him like this, but it’s been apparent for quite a while. I hate to hear stuff like that about the Mason’s because my father was a Mason. In my short life I have developed a pretty healthy skepticism. I have a background in psychology & law and I have seen a lot. You are absolutely correct as far as laws being amended and enacted to keep us at bay. I now truly understand the saying “Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see.” I stopped trying to convince people of anything. Who am I to tell them what’s true & what’s not? I don’t have the answers. I think it’s easier for people to accept what’s given to them. That way they don’t have to think or do their own research.

Michael Vick’s VA home was raided on April 25th. On May 3rd, a week later, this act was signed into law & took effect IMMEDIATELY. The Humane Society had been pushing for almost 6 years then all of a sudden it passes like that? Not coincidental. The reason it was taking so long is that the proponents of dog fighting & cockfighting had poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into stopping this legislation. Even the Humane Society admits that. But hey, it was right on time, I guess.

If Michael Vick participated or knew of these activities he is dead wrong. I don’t want anyone to think that I am taking up for him because I am not. They need someone to make an example out of & he fits the bill. There is no satisfaction in busting up a no-name operation. Does the court system fail the poor, the rich, both, or all. That’s the first time you’ve referred to the court system at all without letting your hatred for this man blind your opinion. I said he wasn’t taking care of them, i.e. not being there with the kids physically. Another person in this forum said it best, no amount of money will ever take the place of a two parent household. To make it personal, my father was a “financial father”, my mother didn’t keep my sister and myself from him, HE CHOSE NOT TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND HANDLE HIS RESPONSIBILITY!!My response was to the people who said, “She’s about to get paid”, “She deserves the money” etc. My post said What do your comments have to do with Diddy’s situation? Who said he wasn’t a good father? Kim is the one that decided to leave it’s not like he left her with all the kids. Granted he may not have been the best boyfriend in the world but how do you know anything about the type of father he is? Just because he’s paying child support doesn’t mean that’s ALL he’s doing. And furthermore as I’ve mentioned in my last post (see #143) if these rich men dont have a problem taking care of their children AND their baby momma’s then what does it matter to you? Michael Jordan had mistressES of all different races sis. It’s not just about him getting a white girl. The sanctity of marriage was never really valued since the inception of this country. It’s been ripped to shreds for purposes of population control. Marriage has been romanticized in this country to the point that people don’t even respect the order aspects of marriage. That’s why the elders could stay married for 50 and 60 years. They respected the order.

You’re right Judah, is was not necessarily about his having a white mistress, any unfaithfulness is a problem, but it is suggested that he really loved this one particular mistress and but for his trying to maintain a certain image, he would have preferred to marry her - Whether this country has romanticized marriage to the point of disrespect or not is no excuse for individual understanding and commitment.

The elders and couples that stay married did so and do so, because they worked on staying together. Society might bear some influence, but grown folk need to be accountable for their individual choices and behavior.

To remind you, this is an open forum for people to give their opinions on a given topic. We all are entitled to our opinion just as you are entitled to yours. However maybe you should ask yourself the same question, “What does it matter to you?” I see you are posting right long with the rest of us. I guess it matters to you as well.

Allbeit the reason why some of these women are awarded so much money is because of the income level of their child’s father. Since YOU want to keep it funky, the average mother/father does not receive all of this money that some of these women are receiving. Let’s talk real talk and real people…outside of the celebrity spotlight. Trust me the custodial parent needs the financial support to help with the needs of the child however financial support does not equal overrall support and overall well-being for the child.

The only thing that’s funny is the fact that my lingo apparently scrambled your brain a bit. For the record “knocked up” means getting pregnant. And you can achieve this with a jump-off, your fiancé, or your husband. The only thing that marriage will POSSIBLY guarantee you is an alimony check to go along with the child support. So yes it’s very funny that you think that you could be exempt from this situation because you would be married.

No offense but you can miss me with the website information. (But since we are keeping it funky, I did click on it just for the hell of it and led me to a site about seafood—you may want to check on that) I don’t need to educate myself on things that I witness day in and day out. I see single parents where the parents aren’t together but they are still equally involved both physically and financially. I see “financial” fathers. And I see situations where the father is there for the child physically but is either unable or unwilling to provide financially. And that is not fair to the mother or the child. And of course you have the situations where the man is just absent period. Therefore, you seem to be seeing things only from your standpoint as a child who did not have a father physically in her life. And I get that. But please believe there is another side to that. It’s the side of a single mother having to do EVERYTHING by herself and it’s not fun. So though your father wasn’t there, your mother was receiving some type of help. And believe me that’s more than some people get. And I mean this in the kindest way: if your father was the type of man that would walk away from his own flesh and blood then you were probably better off without his influence in your life.

My point is that I feel that people are unfairly judging Kim for getting the amount of chid support she gets or is entitled to by the law. What, because she happened to have kids by a wealthy man she should be penalized? That makes no sense to me and it sounds like a bunch of hate. And my main point (as stated before) is if he doesn’t have a problem with it, then why should you? The real fact of the matter is that what I believe is not based on skewed facts or conspiracy. It’s based on the Word of the Lord which frustrates you because you can’t twist that. The “researchers” graded how many black men were in college, aged 18-24 against black men in prison age 18-57, lol. The scripture tells you that one of the curses on our people would be wrongful imprisonment (Psa 79:10,11, Isa 42:22). So I go with stats that back up the the scripture.
