UH OH… JA RULE IS BACK!
Friday, July 20, 2007

I didn’t think that the industry was ready for Ja Rule to come back, but apparently, he didn’t think so! And I think he did what any other smart rapper would have done - throw Lil’ Wayne on the track, because he’s really what’s hot right now as far as rappers go. At first, listening to the song, it sounded extremely dated to me. Like something from early 2000’s. But not Inc. style. The titled “Uh Oh” made me think that it was going to be sort of epic - like a great return, because Ja Rule and his Murder Inc.-ians used to rule the radio. But this doesn’t make me think of an ultimate return. I guess we’ll just have to see what Ja Rule is going to bring this time around, because this isn’t hot. I’m definitely getting lukewarm from this.

Ja Rule came back after all that ish 50 did…
He came back with “New York” which was the anthem…everywhere…for a minute.
Then he came back with “Clap Back”- which was a cool lil song too. I think Ja can come back. 50 aint as relevant as he used to be. He already has let his beef with JA known. If JA comes back with all hot material he can be back up top.

He still got merked by 50 Cent and ran off with his career murdered for 4 yrs, but.dare I say I like the song. -_- I’ll admit a good song whether I like the person or not.

I always thought the writer of these “New Music Reviews” taste in music was a bit…off.
Ja Rule is capable of coming back, but he first has to rebuild his fan base. He has to first appeal to the people that keep your name in the streets. That means he has to drop mixtapes. He’s going to have to start from the underground before he’ll be able to reach the top again. He has to come from the perspective that he’s hungry and is ready to take back what Curtis stole from him. I’m not sayin’ he’s gotta drop a track comin’ directly at Curtis, but it has to be a track that is lyrically sound. This track isn’t it.

It actually wasn’t all that bad, but there was a lot going on with the composition so it overwhelmed the rapping. Wayne did show him up actually, but I think he could have left out all the cursing and n-words. (Although I do admit I still have Down A Chick on my workout playlist. Don’t know, just still like it for some reason…Where’s Charlie B’more?) He might be ok for his comeback. He at least has a recognizable voice and is actually a good rapper, so we’ll see…

this song has been getting airplay in ny for a few months. but it only hit the “most requested” lists of angie martinez and funk master flexx for only a few weeks. 50
s “i get money” joint already kicked jarules joint off the lists as well as T.I., keyshia cole, and numerous other songs.
i have pain is love and rule 3:16 and those albums do get slept on. i respect that he actually lived the life he was spitting on his rhymes. but i ALWAYS thought his label was wack, that ashanti was overrated, and always HATED irv gotti. just never got a good vibe from him whatsoever. i think jarule overused his rap/r&b formula which led to his downfall. it doesnt matter if he comes out w/the hardest song and has a live video of him shooting people w/an A.K.47. not enough people are going to buy that “gangsta image” nemore.
i do wish him the best of luck, but to me, if im gonna buy another album, he needs to come better than adding everyones current favorite rapper on a track.

This song is horrible. I got it last month along with song other song he has out with some chick. If he wants to make a comeback…he’s going to have to come a lot harder than what he’s giving us now.

Cosign #55! Finally someone else sees. A few other people have said similar things, particularly that 50 clowned Ja for his style or whatever, bad-mouthed him, shut him down AND THEN JACKED HIS STYLE! WTF? That’s why I can’t stand 50…he’s a hater, a bully and mimic and he has no originality. Not to mention it hurts my spleen when I look at him. I’ve never bought either of their music, but I would buy and listen to Ja Rule any day over Two Quarters.
