Keyshia Cole’s new video for the first single, “Let It Go,” featuring Missy Elliot and Lil’ Kim debuted on BET’s “Access Granted” last night. The Oakland native shows her party side with the fun-infused Missy Elliott produced track and the video was directed by Benny Boom.
Since her last album release Keyshia Cole has been busy diversifying her career. She has a starring role in the upcoming MTV film “How She Moves,” and is currently working on season two of her BET reality show called “The Way It Is 2″ which is Executive Produced by Keyshia and her manager Manny Halley.

This video and song are definitely an upgrade for Ms. Cole. That funky ole red korean store weave she had before really wasn’t working. She still looks hood but in a real sexy ride or die around the girl type way, she definately doesn’t look like a hood rat no more. She’s starting to look more like she did when she was up in vibe!

You can tell that the director is taking an artistic direction with the video.
On the surface it looks cheap, but if you listen to the song they are sampling a hit from the 80′s with that Roger Troutman patch going as well.
The director used that old school special effects from the eighties. Instead of making the video entirely out of the plot of the song, he used the song’s “sound” for his direction.

This song is cool, but the It Factor is the sampling of “Juicy Fruit”–Keyshia’s voice is a little rough at times, but it goes with her image as the new old-school Mary J. Blige (though no one can touch Mary!)

I like the song. It’s a nice R&B track. But I hate the fact that it’s sampled! Damn it’s sampled from Juicy, Keyshia’s beginning verse is from one of Mary’s songs, and Missy is doing that little HUH voice from that song back in the day, The Message.
I’m glad Keyshia came out with a real R&B song with real lyrics though. I congratulate her for that and I wish all these so called R&B singers would do the same. Even though Keyshia’s style is jacked up and she was looking ghetto in the video, she didn’t try to look sexy or have her ass hanging out.
