VIDEOS: CHAMILLIONAIRE – ‘HIP-HOP POLICE’ & ‘EVENING NEWS’

Chamillionaire takes on multiple roles in two new videos from his sophomore album, Ultimate Victory. First he plays a perp — alongside old-school icon Slick Rick — who is arrested by the Hip-Hop Police. In ‘Evening News,’ the rapper is an anchor and field reporter, taking jabs at America’s idea of newsworthy headlines. Did anyone else get a Dave Chappelle vibe while watching ‘Evening News’??

Anyway, Chamillionaire’s new album, Ultimate Victory, is set to hit stores September 18th. Make sure you show some support, because both videos were dope and I’m sure the album will follow suit.

  17. Bakunzi

Man Cham, doing his thing, the narrative and thinking was dope.

PLUS HE BROUGH BACK A PIONEER. HE RESPECTS THE ART FORM AND PAID HOMAGE TO ONE OF THE PIONEERS.

    Respect to you Cham…

  18. Ninagirl

I also caught this video last night on Access Granted and I think he is doing big things. I especially liked the beggining of the vid when the cop he was playing asked him did he call him a nicca and Chamillionaire was saying bigger. Then the cop said u have the right to remain stupid. Ppl need to stop usin the N word, we are in the New Millenium and somethings gotta change for us as a ppl to grow. U cant sleep on Chamillionaire, there was a method to his madness.

  19. CSUgirl

OMG!!! I’m really loving chamilionaire right now! I’m diggin the message. I hope his album sales skyrocket. And Slick rick is a good look for the song. I really missed slick rick. Loved his voice!

  20. calmsensual1

    im lovin it!

  21. Bakunzi

oh my goodness I had to listen and watch again, fuck that he’s from the south and all the state claiming. he has something to say that effects everyone globally especially blacks man. I do not listen to radio or have cable so THANK YOU Concrete Loop………..

  22. @20 I STOPPED!!!!!

Yeah If I slip at all I’ll say Nigra or something similar.

    …But I’m usually like you:
    Guys
    Dudes
    Kids
    Jokers
    Dummies
    Fools

    …..and Im like hey:
    Guy
    Dude
    Kid

    Im getting better everyday!

  23. EXPAND YOUR MINDS!!!!

Cham has a nice smile! he should stop wearing those grills!!! Anyways I respect him a lot more now, but I know mainstream hip-hop will not be liking it because it’s too “educational” they want to hear that Ay Bay Bay crap, and dance the chicken noodle soup.

  24. ms_mac

The boy is trying. At least this joint is better than 99% of the other garbage that’s out there right now. And yes, he loses points for lack of originality with the white face a’la Chappelle but he makes up for it elsewhere.

  25. Had To Come In Here and Rep For Another Texas Native!

Thank You Chamillionaire! It’s Refreshing To Hear Something and See Something Different Than The Usual Videos & Songs That Not Only Make The South Look Bad and Live Up To It’s Stereotypes, But the Rap Game In General. Not To Say He’s The Only One In The South Raping About Somethin, But I’m Glad He’s Representing For Those Who Aren’t As Big In The Game Right Now.
    Keep It Up Chamillionaire.

That “Hip-Hop Police” Joint Is True Though. Everybody Wants To Blame Hip-Hop and Rappers When Something Bad Goes Down.

  26. He is definitely doing his thing and trying to change how things are done in music. Both songs have a message…which is rare for a rap artists to have not one but two positive songs on their album looking forward to his sophmore….!!!!!!

  27. Oh! And I love that he has Slick Rick in the song. He’s got that “story teller” type voice that they needed in that song. Ok, i’m done, lol :)

  28. atl

This here is a shame. I can’t belive some of the stupid comments about, how he is looking and where he’s from. This is not a joke people. He spoke everything that we as a people should have been saying 5 years ago. I’m sick and tired of the put downs. He is representing us as a people. I’m so proud of him. Grow the fuck up!!!!

Keep on living, you will See.

Leave 50 cent alone, at least he’s got business about himself, you thoughts make him proud. Haterssssssssss!!!!!!!

  29. HE IS SO UGLY IT SCARES ME……..

  30. HTOWN BABY!!!!

of course im feelin cham he music is the truth…both videos are are dope and the message are on point so all the weak rappers from the south pls take notice.

  31. I can’t even talk about Chamillionaire cause he’s such a nice & intelligent person. I just can’t do it.

  32. Post # 4, i kinda agree with u, he does kinda look better as the white news anchor, but anyways…

I like both of the videos, he’s speaking da truth, and it ain’t about repping da South or not, there are bigger issues out there than just repping where you’re from. And he’s repping da South in his own way.

I think Oprah should see these videos and listen to the content.People need to stop critisizing and blaming hip-hop for all the problems in the world.

Bush starts the war in Iraq, blame hip-hop, Hurricane Katrina hits thousands of people, who’s fault is it, hip-hop again…The vidoes show the hypocricy of the media and how one thing can be twisted and give a bad look to an artist, like in da beginning where he says “bigger” and the cop keeps saying the N word.

  33. phillydon

WOW i’m surprised , finally an artist speaking on some real shit , BRAVO chamillionaire.

  34. johnosahon

even just for the message, i am going to buy his album. the more successful this album is, the more quality rap will be available.

people have been buying crap that is why more crap is made.

    buy this album

  35. CLBrown

This one of the best videos for TV and the state of HIP HOP right now… He put it all on blast… They aint go like it… way to call it out.. BIGUP

  36. wow!! I’m really feeling this! He telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!! Keep it up Cham, this is great!

    LOL@his multiple characters.

  37. i saw a clip of this video & i thought it wuld be pretty good. but hey..i’m glad he’s baq!!..lol

  38. i didnt like the song but the video made me listen and kind of like it…he indeed raise the bar..with the story telling in the rap music..aww i love how slick rick rap…but definite raise the bar..

  39. simone

HE IS JUST NOT EASY ON THE EYES . GOOD CONCEPT TO THE VIDEO BUT WHEW HIS OARENTS REALLY MESSED HIM UP .

  40. he looks like a still evolving caveman with the white makeup.

  41. Cham may not be the finest thing on the block, but he seems like a humble guy, and probably has a great personality.

I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS…..HIP HOP LIVESSSSSSSSS
I will make sure i buy his CD. we need to support bros like him

  42. I love Chamillionaire, the song is good and man does he looked messed up white, LMAO,

  43. funny videos though. liking this.

  44. Oooo I like Cham…now he a gd southern rapper fo sure…I like Not a criminal off Ultimate Victory album

    Do yo thang Cham!

  45. TRISTAN

The songs and videos are both nice…I’m really looking forward to Cham’s second album…however I have a strong feeling a couple of “people” are NOT going to like Cham’s new vids

  46. the white boy must have been Bill O from Fox Not so news channel

THESE TWO VIDS HAVE MADE MY DAY!! OK. IM DONE. LOL

  47. No 1 Notices Me W/O an Avatar!

I’m sorry but The song still Sucks.

  48. I like the videos but I can’t say I agree with what he is saying. I like Cham but it is unfortunate, he is not listening to what many of the so called Hip Hop “critics” are saying. He thinks many of them are saying Hip Hop is the CAUSE of many of black people’s ills, and that is not true. That is not what they are saying.

The Hip Hop industry is not the cause of everything but the Hip Hop industry is running away and not taking responsibility for the negative effects it HAS had on the community. If we are honest with ourselves, we will admit that the negative side of Hip Hop has impacted society, particularly black society. Again, it didn’t cause a lot of things but it certainly poured gasoline on the fire.

Instead of being defensive, Chamillionaire, and others should step back and hear what Oprah, Al Sharpton, Spike Lee, Jessie Jackson,Will Smith, etc., are asking. They aren’t trying to shut anyone down, they are simply asking to stop calling our brothers and sisters out of their names (N*gga, H*, B*tch), and clean up the lyrics of the entertainment they put out before the world, because it affects ALL black people, regardless of Hip Hop’s intentions.

Chamillionaire is a good guy and these videos are different from a lot of stuff out there now, THANK GOD, but unfortunately I think he has misinterpreted the entire issue. Good videos nonetheless.

First it was Eddie Murphy how steppedon the scene with white-face back in the day on SNL funny skit about trying to get a back loan without a job or lD but gets the loan ‘cos he’s…

Dave Chaplips wasn’t all the OG with most of his stuff he bit ALOT of Eddie but his (dave) demographics was just too young to remember. Say what you want about Mr. Murphy but there was a time when he was held in high esteem as great comic genius who was on the FBI radar because of his influence and unflinching critic of America (now his on g_ydar and just played himself) Remember when he was on Ophar sayin Sistas were the only women for him boy those pinktoes were steaming and furious that a brother would prefer his own women over them(liked THAT Eddie) (less have moment of silence for the dearly departed)
…but back to the subject at hand

Chamillionaire has mos def stepped up the game as it relates to HIP-HOP. Again I think he was paying homage to all the old skools including eddie more so than dave.

I will buy this CD jus ‘cos.

Chamillionaire said during a recent interview on BET that he IS being proactive and has chosen to stop using the “N” word because he realized that people think it is okay because public figures like himself make it seem like it is okay; he is not saying that people like Oprah, Al Sharpton, etc. have blamed hip hop

  51. DrivingDirty

    less=let’s

  52. Ali

lmfao, funny vid:] i like the song

  53. what the game has been missing! but lets wait and see if he gets played on tv and radio as much as the bubble gum rap that todays youth enjoy.

  54. Wow. He is not actually the useless weed head I thought he was. He took a good
direction for his music marketing wise. None of the rappers are saying anything of substance these days so his work will stand out. Though I don’t always care for his Point of view in these videos, I applaud his approach. Refreshing.

    kind

  55. Ali
