VIDEOS: CHAMILLIONAIRE - ‘HIP-HOP POLICE’ & ‘EVENING NEWS’
Friday, July 27, 2007
Chamillionaire takes on multiple roles in two new videos from his sophomore album, Ultimate Victory. First he plays a perp — alongside old-school icon Slick Rick — who is arrested by the Hip-Hop Police. In ‘Evening News,’ the rapper is an anchor and field reporter, taking jabs at America’s idea of newsworthy headlines. Did anyone else get a Dave Chappelle vibe while watching ‘Evening News’??
Anyway, Chamillionaire’s new album, Ultimate Victory, is set to hit stores September 18th. Make sure you show some support, because both videos were dope and I’m sure the album will follow suit.

I like how he had the black cops doing the interrogating while all the caucasians looked on smirking, lmao. Well done. Now if he was a regular black man and said those things as opposed to rapping them, most of the negroes on here would call him a conspiracy theorist. That’s how powerful the tv and movie screen are and how integral actors and musicians are in getting people to think a certain way.

Cham is the man. I love how humble he is (Kanye & 50 need to take a lesson). I will support him for as long as he is around. I thought his last album was really good. I’ve been waiting for this one to drop.

I can appreciate both songs and the videos. Congrats Chamillionaire on showing these other rappers who have been in the game for a while (i.e 50) and still can’t put out a song that actually makes you think. Hopefully this is the beginning of something more conscious and from other hip hop artists too.

Notice Slick Rick wears an eye patch. Maybe Chamillinaire hould take heed and cover something that would take the pain of looking at him away.

Um, Chappelle didn’t invent “whiteface”, people. Chamillionaire’s activist side was already shown in Ridin’… this is only a logical extension. Great work.

I like the 1st video & song. As far as the 2nd one goes, its cool & agree with some shit that he’s saying, but i feel like he’s too paranoid & taking some shit way too seriously. Like # 52 saying, no one is blaming hip hop 4 all our worlds problems.

To Vevlet J,
I hear you loud and clear and I understand what you saying buttttt you not understanding what he saying. Just last night, I was watching the news and the case with Michael Vick and dogfighting came on. They tried to even blame the dogfighting
on hip hop. I was like you cant be serious. They showed a clip of Jayz’s video 99 problems where the two dogs were just barking at each other, not fighting, just barking. I was like how and what does that have to do with Michael Vick. Michael Vick decision to be involoved with dogfighting was his choice, not Jayz, not Hip hop but his choice. Anway, my point is, If you play close attetion to every thing going on in the media, 98 % of the time they will blame hip hop for everything. Like hip hop is the reason Negroes going to jail, cant find a job, not raising their own kids, etc…
That is the people’s fault. Yeah hip hop has problems but you should have your own mind. You can allow hip hop to influence you in a good way or a negative way.
I commend Chamillionaire for taking hip hop 10 steps forward. Im waiting for other dumbass rappers to follow suit. Im also glad for once, there was no skank ass video girls in the video.

Hopefully black people will start to “get” that there is a such thing as the Hip Hop police. Special division in the NYC. Please don’t get it twisted.
Dude is sooo smart. Such a turn on. First video with Slick Rick was Mutha Fuckin Brilliant. It does pay to take creative chances. Cause when you win YOU REALLY WIN.

Thank you #91 this is so much bigger than hip- hop, this hip-hop thing has gotten way bigger than these white folks thought it would and it is making young black people millionaires now you know they don’t want that so what do they do? It’s a systematic process……. now its the N word(which I agree we should not use) but next its going to be something else so lets just clean it up a little so we can keep getting money.
P.S. Chamiilionaire is a genius

I am originally from Houston, Texas, and I seriously disliked everything that Cham did in the past… But now, after watching those videos, I’m proud of ol’ boy and he brought a legend back in the game too, SLICK RICK!!!! You got to love hip hop right now… Yes it was “Dave Chappelle-ISH” , by the way Dave needs to stop trippin and get a show or movie on deck, but it was actually enjoyable to watch…. FINALLY, somebody made a vid without some ARSE SHAKING AND THROWIN MONEY IN THE AIR!

He is @ Queen? oh just looked it up well his parents straight outta Nigeria but he was born here with a US upbringing……………… well no surprise he’s of West African descent since most black Americans are of predominately West African/Sub-Saharan African ancestry anyways.

you really should …its irrelevant and relative. His momma loves him as I’m sure yours does too…besides I’m sure you may not be everybody’s cup of tea either and thats cool. Different strokes for different folks.
His message has little or nothing to do with how cute you think he is.

75 I agree!
You people who keep on talking about how he looks or saying the song is wack need to shut the F*ck up and open your eyes and ears. Chamillionaire is one of my favorite rappers because he’s real, just like Nas. He’s new and fresh and is doing real hip-hop music and putting out a real message. He’s a wonderful example of an intelligent rapper. I thought the videos were very funny, kinda corny at times, but I still respect them. It was so funny when he said “You called me a n*gger boy” and then said “No I said Bigger” Chamillionaire is a good actor. I’m also glad that he doesn’t have any of these nasty ass hos shaking their ass all up in the camera! Now I only wish rap music would sound like this and the videos would have a positive message like this.

Now that the man has made a song about the “hip-hop” police, lol, now what? It’s not about identifying the enemy, it’s what’s your plan of attack against these people. In my opinion “hip-hop” police is a derogatory term. It implies that only famous blacks or “hip-hoppers” get harassed by the police. In reality, many of these rappers are working with the different police departments in conjunction with the FBI and CIA. That’s why they’re always getting arrested for publicity stunts (Ja-Rule & Lil Wayne) or go to court on these outlandish charges and get exonerated (Irv Gotti). Plus it’s good publicity for the rappers. It gives them “street cred” because most of these negroes aren’t about what they rappin’ about. That’s why they’re always getting extorted. It’s ironic that the man had Slick Rick in the video because Rick went to jail after he spazzed out when he kept getting extorted, and shot his cousin if I remember correctly.
The hip hop police is involved with surveillance and intelligence gathering of these “rappers”, not outright arrest for illegal activities. Alot of these cats “bodyguards” are off-duty, undercover, or retired police officers or trained federal agents. It’s a cointelpro program and the hip-hop cats are down with it because some of them are undercover federal agents their damn selves. Police harassment is a problem that the black and hispanic community has been dealing with in America as long as there have been police forces. It has nothing to do with no damn hip-hop. If the feds really do scale Eminem’s house like Chamillionaire showed in the video, it’d be for him being disobedient. Lol.

I will most def be buying his next cd when it drops . The songs were hot with a good beat & message . lol I almost fell off my chair this video has no half naked women , no dance moves , no random dance scences , no fake sex/kissing scenes , no club scene , no alcohol and no annoying sentence(s) they keep repeating . this is what the game has been missing .
