The song “Bed” has been heating up all over the radio. Everyone seems to love it. Produced by Los Da Mystro and written by the Dream (who we just did a feature on, as well as the man who brought to you Rihanna’s “Umbrella”). It turns out that Dream also recorded his own version of “Bed,” which I’m sure was probably a guide vocal that he’d sent to the label before J. Holiday recorded it. I’m a little torn, because to me, they sound similar, Dream’s version is just a little more raw, of course. I think my ear has just been trained to J. Holiday’s version. Dream has his own project out on the way, but you know we’ve got to ask the question: Who sang it better? It’s up to you.

NO COMPARISON! J. HOLIDAY ALL DAY ERR DAY! His voice and melodies and his raw talent do tha song justice. No disrespect to Dream, great song he wrote, but he should stick to ghost writing. J. Holiday brings that fresh, genuine R&B flava that tha game’s been missing. He sounds sooo damn SEXY! i’ll make love to that joint over and over again!
i think J Holiday (such a gorgeous brotha by the way) and Dream’s version of the song are both similar – i love the raw talent of both artists – if i were J i’d do a Neyo and start getting the credit for writing the music as well as singing the beautiful lyrics…this is such a sexy song – i just blast it in my car (as I ride down 85) and i’m good for the day!!!!

What I really want to hear is the demo track for Umbrella. It was supposedly rejected by several prospects before Rihanna recorded it, which is hard to imagine — because it’s *such* a catchy track. I’d love to hear exactly what was shopped around. Anybody know if there’s a copy out there?

I have to speak my mind on this subject because I am a fan of J. Holiday, Dream and Chris Brown. J Holiday was the right man for this song he took it to another level. As far as Dream he did not do the song no justice and I did not even have to play the whole of the first verse before I turned it off. He’s a great producer and I like umbrella and bed very much. Hate the remix with Chris Brown. Love him very much but he messed the song up in my opinion. I saw Chris Brown and 106 and park and he was kinda of cocky. I dont believe his 2nd album is as good as his first. And also believe he has growning to do as an artist. He also said that Bed was originally written for him. The fact the he wanted to speak out on it. Give me a break he would have down the song no justice like “Dream did so get over it.
