theDream – Shawty Is A 10
Think you’ve never heard this guy’s music before? Well, if you’ve recently blasted Rihanna’s “Umbrella” (which he wrote in 12 minutes) or “Breakin’ Dishes” or J. Holiday’s “Bed,” then you’re very familiar with The Dream’s sound. Working closely with teammates Tricky Stewart and Jazze Pha, Dream plays guitar, trumpet and drums and is the husband of R&B singer, Nivea. It’s no wonder that in his spare time, he enjoys painting and sculpting. Drawing his inspiration from Sam Cooke, Al Green and Timbaland, this Rockingham, NC native (now based in Atlanta) has production and writing credits everywhere. Just check the discography.
It’s rumored that his new video for “Shawty Is A 10″ is being shot in the coming weeks. There are definitely high hopes set for this new Def Jam signee. But he’s definitely not new to the game…

I heard of this guy. With those shades on, he kind of looks like Jazze Pha or dude from UGK.
Those tracks he did for Rihanna are really good. Rihanna’s CD is really nice.
Nivea can sing-He need to really hook her with excellent songs. Instead of giving them to Rihanna.
Her last album did not move King Kong size units. Like I expected it to. But then again heonly did like 3 songs on her last record. Its nice a decent CD-I actually bought it.
I hope she’s the “Shawty is a 10″ chick he’s referring to.

wow I’m surprised he did those tracks, because he pretty much produced most of the tracks for Nivea ‘Animalistic’ track were totally off point or maybe he just wanted to keep his wife down!?!

If it’s not mean for you, you ain’t gon’ get it. Leave it alone. Shawty Is A 10, but theDream is a 2 @ best.
I enjoyed his work on Nivea’s last album. I think he can make it since he is a real musician. I’ll listen to the song when I get home though.

i agree too much writers trying to be singers but i think he could do it and people are tired of neyo talking about everyone he wrote for damn who cares he writes good songs but not all of them are hits .(he too big headed right now ) and some of yall just hating on him(the dream) cause he a big boy but he better then sean kingston (in looks and everything else) .

I have been LOVIN & BUMPIN this song (The “Shawty Is Da Shit” version) for about two months now…..I literally walk around singing this song as my theme music….I hope it earns theDREAM the acclaim that he deserves…..I’ll definitely be waitin for an album!!!
