DC Yeager feat. Ne-Yo – Let Me Know
Attributing much of his inspiration to Brian McKnight, Babyface, Boys II Men, Jodeci, Color Me Badd, and many of the other R&B heartthrobs of the early 90′s, DC Yeager, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, has a sound that is very familiar to any of those artists who were just mentioned. Something about his tone and even the production on the Ne-Yo-featured “Let Me Know” just takes me straight back to the 90′s. The arrangement, the lyrics – everything about it to me sounds like one of the songs I’d be listening to at a young age in my older sister’s room. I think that’s what people are going to be going for in the new wave of music, even with content: a sound and subject matter more reminiscent of a lighter time in music. When R&B was just about getting to know someone, and just grooving.

I’m first and I’m luvin it.
DC who? I dont know who he is but he looks like another Justin Timberlake/Kevin Federline.
Oh My God Brian! You scared me for a minute. I thought that was K FED! lol
I love it…
I like da lyrics and da beat, this is somethin I can see me n my man chillin 2.
Here we go another Justin Shitalake, yeah yeah, give white soul a chance. I am tired of these bluy eye crooners, but hey if that mess –Keeping it in the closet–R Child Molester Kelly— is all we have–then let the white boys make a move into R&B. Maybe that will teach black artist to stop merging hip hop and classic R&B, because its getting lost in those thud type beats and nonsense lyrics. My opinion…the one has spoken.
uhm….
i hate when songs start wit
“i love to touch u right there”…
the song is okay….juss cuz neyo is in it dont mean its a hit
Sounds good but so what
@6 i agree with you.. im ova blue eyed soul..
I like it… it sounds like Say it alittle bit… or it reminds me of that song….
But its nice….
Put a lil’ soul in a white person’s mouth, and they are the best thing since sliced bread…
I am definately feelin this song.
lol @6 im with you but r&b is at a state of emergeny and our artist are slipping with the good ole r&b it seems like the only people doing it right is robin thickes justin and this unknown dude. the feel of this song reminds me of the 90s. YALL REMEMBER JON B ? he was the shit. good r&b is good r&b no matter who wants to do but im am tired of neyos voice why cant he just write! its funny of how all of a sudden some of these blue eyed cats have better voices then the people we got in r&b robin thicke justin timberlake christina aguilera, etc,
LOL @3, you are so right! I had to take a second look to be sure it wasn’t K-Fed. I think he is too busy right now trying to get Brit’s money to be making music.
#3, I almost spit my juice all over the screen! LOL. you are hilarious!
Nice…reminds me of Jon B. Where IS Jon B.?
He’s a cutie…I can’t wait to listen to the song.
he lookss like another Channing Tatum or K Fed..
I dont really like this song, but it just sounds like a Neyo song! Neyo is singing more than this DC guy, whos song is it???
Yes, this song is very Jon B.-ish…but I like it. He was definitely influenced by the 90′s.
I don’t see anything wrong with a white artist doing R&B as long as they’re keeping it real.
If the black folks ain’t gone do it right then it needs to be taken over.
If you break down any popular black r&b song (minus b. mcknight, tamia, Tasia) by lyrical content then you realize that there is really no song there.
Just because a chick or guy can sing don’t mean that the track has a story line…now-a-days artists just throw together some words (sometimes it rhymes; sometimes it doesn’t), throw in a catchy hook and bingo………hit. I remember listening to Tony, Toni, Tone first CD and was like…wtf…this song don’t make no sense.
I like it..I dont care who is singing the R&B im just tired of hearing songs like “My Girl got a Girlfriend” and “Bartender”. But Jon B is “supposed” to singing down here in Baton Rouge at a little show this Saturday. I think I’m going to plan on checking it out.
edit: baton rouge, la
Damn Youngstown OHIO . REpresent!
HE LOOKS GOOD HE SHOULD TRY MODELING I DON’T THINK THE MUSIC IS GOING TO WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn, he’s a cutie!
@3 I thought i was the only one lol…But he sounds good though..
HE AINT FUCKIN WIT ROBIN THICKE… LOL. COO I GUESS.
He is cute as hell…..YUMMMY
Whoeva made that comment about “bartender” stop please u know thats tha shit LOL I agree with that my girl gotta girlfriend thats trash
anyways……who knows maybe he’ll be alrite
Reminded me of Jon B..but this guy just bored me…I think what worked with music from the early 90′s was that the songs were believable..I believed them when they sang about loving this one girl or whatever….Now it just sounds contrived…and I notice race is gonna feature big in the comments so Ill add my 2 cents..Ive noticed the standards for white singers are different….I noticed people make more of an allowance when the singer is white..I mean I want to be blown away..this guy wasnt even “eh” to me…..
His voice is very average. Hardly “blue-eyed soul”. Damn you Justin Timberlake for making every whiny-voiced white guy think they can be some sort of R&B superstar. There are some amazing White soul singers though, don’t get me wrong.
Am I the only one who’s not feeling this song?? It sounds like he’s whinning…Who knows maybe it is just me
~SWEETS~
Lol @ being inspired by Color Me Bad
Y’all may think this dude was just “eh”…But really…what young black R&B cat is out there today (getting air time) who can REALLY sing? No, not who can just “perform” and dance and put on a show to distract you from his horrible voice while he’s breathing all hard…but one who can sing acapella and doesn’t need the studio to sound worthwhile? Ne-Yo, Trey Songz, and Lloyd can do it (I’ve seen them in concert)..but who else? Dudes back in the day used to be UGLY, but they could sing, and that’s all that mattered. These days, as long as they’re semi-cute, can dance, and like taking off their shirts, they’re destined to make a hit, even if their voices are garbage…It’s hard to get them to play real R&B on the radio these days, ’cause you can’t dance to it…UGH!!! Future generations probably won’t know 97% of the junk they play on the radio these days…R&B needs help, y’all…
I wish brian would have not posted a picture than everyone’s comments would have been different. this is 2007 people wake the fu ( I
I remember him! He was in a boyband called Youngstown that Ne-Yo used to write for. They were pretty good and they even performed the theme song for “The Famous Jett Jackson”.
I love the song. DAMNN that’s a sexy white boy!
Feels good, no Babyface- but better than some or the tired R&B out there.
While Kelly is still tryin’ to do that Closet sh**, dudes like this guy and Thicke are coming w/something I can… let’s just say music “I can get my grown woman on with”.
Let’s forget Black/White- he sounds good.
He’s also not bad to look at…
I like it. This is something I would download on my Ipod. It reminds me of Jon B.
Black people won’t let white people in, but expect white people to let black people into everything. Hmmm
-_- zZ
fuck all the haters. he can get it wid those fine blue eyes. we’d have gorgeous babies too
but havign listened to the track there is definitley something whiny/nasal about his vocal tone. but the song is cool
I feel Bryan on the R&B from the 90′s. I used to listen in my big sister’s room too. LOL. But…this ain’t quite it. I do dig Ne-Yo & Robin Thicke, but I’m feeling #7. I hate the way the song started too. And now that I’m grown and I know that no amount of sex produces screams and hollas on this level, I think this borders on lame and I find myself laughing at this joint.
Some of the people on here are unbelievably racist for people who claim racism as part of what hinders your culture , it is certainly being kept alive good job!
Think about your words and if they were said about you would it piss you off…
In fact you should do this before you say anything to anybody.
I agree with u #39 we as black people complain when we say white people do this and do that and are racist but I think its us that are truly the racist ones
not feeling it…he is def trying to hard and can not SING!
the girls will eat it u though because he is lightskinned and of the blue eye society
I THINK SOME BLACK FOLKS ARE THREATENED ONCE AGAIN BY US WHITE FOLKS, SO GO AHEAD AND TALK ALL BIG AND BAD ON THE INTERNET LOL!
he looks scary!!!
I like it, there’s just something about a slow burner that gets me everytime… His tone kind of reminds me of Jon B. and I ♥ me some Jon B.!!!
You know, he could pass for Derek Jeter! very handsome indeed….
He is so cute!! I like the lyrics and the music!! BUT!! He can’t sing …
@46 where do you live and why are you on here? Go to perez hilton.com or tv guide or E! where your people reign supreme. We get enough of you 24/7 online, on tv, in mags in the newpapers, DANG!
I am black– 100 percent– and I will see you (cuz I am a lady) all day–I will leave it at that. You people always want what we have, its called Rhythm and Blues —not blue for the eyes.
And by the way I love Robin Thicke but lets be correct its not about his color when you can sing and your beats are on point I will but your ish, but I AM STILL tired of your people stealing our ish! And our people not recognizing it when its happening. Next thing you know that brother will win a BET best R&B album.
And for the hanckerchief wearing negros up in here defending, lets all get along because its 2007, when was the last time you read a report on the civil rights violations that happen in this country ever day to innocent black folk, or better yet go to CBS.com and check what they good white folks are saying about the young Christian woman that is on Big Brother or about the sister suing Imus— right or wrong–but its all love baby. The one has spoken.
With better collaborations and guidance I think he can make it.
He needs to knock on Babyface´s, Darkchild, Static Playa (and all the Aaliyah “dreamteam”) and he´ll comeout flawless. Ne-yo is slippin on this one.
Could care less what any haterz say in here. I support good ish when I hear it. I just hit him up at myspace.
I meant “knock on their doors”
And why they mess with his vocals so much! They are chocking it up with the autotune. Dang!
I am digging this song. I remember him back from the YOUNGSTOWN days on the Disney chanel, but he’s really gettin it these days. Much love to you DC. Keep the music coming baby.
R&B is R&B. You can’t hate on someone because they’re more attracted to one style of music than the other. It shouldn’t matter about race, all that matter is the music. If you actually went to listen to the other songs on his Myspace, you would see that it does have a 90′s R&B vibe. You know that Jon B. cool relax music.
Don’t front either, EVERYBODY liked Jon. B!
Oh yeah, I remember him back from the Youngstown days too. I loved his voice back then, and I still do. I was actually excited when i saw this posted.
CAN YA’LL PLEASE FEATURE J*DAVEY IN THE ARTIST SPOTLIGHT!!! THEY ARE 10 TIMES BETTER THAN THIS!!!
Dimples Delight and Rhannie – Stop it! Yall are making too much sense. I was listening to Keith Sweat last night thinking, Damn! Who killed the music?
As far as what young artists can sing today, Mario is definitely one. And if you’re going to dog this boy out for his singing you can’t turn around and give props to Ne-yo and Lloyd who are both average singers.
I agree this takes me back. It is refreashing to not heat about calling on a hotline, being flirt,or having dripping love like honey. There used to be a time when you could feel the music…that’s why they call it soul music because you could feel it in your soul now all I do is feel the need to turn off the Radio. Now these brothers and sisters are coming out with songs that have no meaning and no feeling. They think they can come out with gold suits, showing off their bodies and some awful lyrics and it is music. We need to learn that if We are not going to step up then someone will take our spots. They are recognizing that there is a need for old school R and B while many of us are into this BS that they are feeding us.
Wow heard this song forever ago on another site…………..he’s freakin’ hot and this song is soooooooooo sexy
.
