ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: MONEY!

Money – Fantasy

Did you listen to Timbaland’s Shock Value? Did you bump the track titled “Fantasy” from this random girl, Money? Were you wondering who she was and where did some come from? Well, apparently, the story goes that famed producer/songwriter Walter Milsap (household name among musicians from all genres – think the entire Afrodisiac album from Brandy) did this as a demo for Timbaland’s Shock Value and Timbaland liked it so much that he decided to leave it on the album as is. So from just recording to having a full-length feature on one of the year’s most anticipated releases.

A California native, Money says that she is most inspired and influenced by Prince. While most labels are trying to match their artists to the hottest thing, and trying to make them the next biggest thing, Money, with her unique style, original voice, and captivating choreography, is ready to give us an example of what the future of pop/R&B music will be.

For more information about Money, and to check out some more songs from her, make sure you hit her up on MySpace and tell her CL sent you!

Sounds pretty good – I might need to hear something else that isn’t so similar to other songs so i can concentrate on her voice.

Lol @ #55 – If you’re thinking “newer” stuff I am still bumpin that Lloyd StreetLove and if you’re thinking “older” I still like They Don’t Know by Jon B. and F*%k Song by Urban Mystic. Gets me goin.

  3. Bad Ass Gone Worse

She sound like Kat Deluna at the beginning.

  4. it does sound like mya….its alright…

  5. CARMEN SMITH

I’m totally lovin’ this song!!!! You can tell she likes Prince :)

  6. JoRo

    Sounds like Ciara on helium.

  7. My Pockets

this song is old as hell, it was recorded BEFORE promise, what sucks for her is promise was released first and now it sounds like a knock off promise…Money is cool my only issue with her after checkin her myspace for new songs is that they all sound the same…

  8. Was by far my favourite track when I first bought “Shock Value”. I was desperate to find out who she was so I could hear more and finally found her on myspace about a month back. Her vocal arrangements make up for her lack of vocal power, they’re gorgeous. I’m really feeling the tracks on her myspace too, can’t wait for her and Keri’s albums.

P.S. Please stop comparing this to “Promise”, the arrangements on this are so much better than Ciara’s, I think thats where Ciara fails a lot of the time esp. on “The Evolution” album tracks. “Promise” was nowhere near as catchy as this either. My 2 Cents…

  9. I love the hell out this song and she’s pretty……..I’ve never seen her before…………this song is old as crap to me now though. I already like.

  10. She didn’t remind me of anyone when I listen to the song…..she does not sound like Ciara or Mya wth.

  11. in my opinion, the best damn song on the cd… and tim isnt on it. what does that say??
