Steph Jones – Mr. Ordinary
Meet Steph Jones. This Houston-born, Missouri City-raised singer has really been picking up some steam recently. The self-proclaimed momma’s boy was discovered and signed by DTP’s Ludacris and Chaka. Steph attributes much of his inspiration to the likes of Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, and Frank Sinatra – just to name a few.
“Mr. Ordinary” is an easy track. It’s got a nice groove, and Steph’s voice floats over it very nicely. It just feels like a good song. The production is simple and light, which I think adds to the charm of the song. It doesn’t over-power the sweetness of Steph’s voice. He’s like none other artist on DTP. Even with Bobby Valentino on the roster, I think that Steph will definitely get his shine on later this year.

I think he has potential. Ok gon head boy! This song is ok but Im really feeling his “get me started” on his myspace. Bout time we get some different music that is progressive and not about me droppin my back like a ho. Plus he is definetly a cutie so I can see him blowin up. But his image reminds me of that white guy that that was kinda kooky….Jason Mraz yeah thats him! Anyway he sounds very promising.

This song turned out to be exaclty what I expected from Steph Jones. It’s chill, mellow, melodic, just real smoothe! it’s a great track and if this song is the sloghtest glimpse into what we can expect from his album, its most def gonna be a banger!
I saw him on the chingy video earlier today. I think he needs to comb his hair. “Mr Ordinary” sounds good but I don’t like that they have Mr. Shawn Carter on the track. I hate sample music. Let’s wait to see what else comes out by this guy. He can’t hit it though, not my speed.
