Steph Jones – Mr. Ordinary
Meet Steph Jones. This Houston-born, Missouri City-raised singer has really been picking up some steam recently. The self-proclaimed momma’s boy was discovered and signed by DTP’s Ludacris and Chaka. Steph attributes much of his inspiration to the likes of Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, and Frank Sinatra – just to name a few.
“Mr. Ordinary” is an easy track. It’s got a nice groove, and Steph’s voice floats over it very nicely. It just feels like a good song. The production is simple and light, which I think adds to the charm of the song. It doesn’t over-power the sweetness of Steph’s voice. He’s like none other artist on DTP. Even with Bobby Valentino on the roster, I think that Steph will definitely get his shine on later this year.

Its so nice to hear actual singers and not studio whores. Most people don’t know the difference between true music and whats been spoon fed to them. I eat up anything with true talent, heart and soul. I appreciate the hustle, keep it up.

I absolutly LOVE STEPH JONES & his music!!!! His voice is amazing nad so mesmorizing!!! He is going to be veryyyyy Succesful!!!
A couple of months ago I checked out his page on myspace and I tell you he gave me chills….he can really sing!!! But what is great and will take him far is that dang personality!! If you listen to a couple of his songs and watch some of those personal video emails you will see what I mean….a very down to earth artist…and no he doesnt look like Marques Houston…I think Steph Jones has his own “Ordinary” look what a FINE man, lol….anyway I wish him the best… you all should definately check out his myspace account its HOT!!!!
I think he has a nice voice. On hi myspace you can hear him sing acapella on youtube videos. He wiil definitely have a future.
He’s got a “feel-good” vibe…you listen to his tracks and they’re just upbeat, light, and a breathe of fresh air. I’m groovin’ just listening to it right now! LOL Love the music, hope to hear more…check out his video for Celebrity Chick on BET…good stuff there! (I’m trying to give my opinion based solely on his voice and not his body, ’cause let’s face it, a cute face can only take you so far). But Steph Jones…you’re doin ya thing!
A very simple song….which is why it is so successful. Mr. Jones has a very “easy” voice….such a pleasant and calming quality to his voice. The song reminds me of a nice walk through a park on a sunny day. Music such as this, I feel, is very necessary and appreciated. Steph Jones is an amzing talent to say the least.
