My family and I were at the Grove in LA yesterday and she walked right by us. At first we thought was that really Nona Gaye? We watched her for almost ten minutes before she got into a taxi cab. She looked really terrible. Her once beautiful eyes were blood shot red and her skin was drawn and tight and discolored. She was wearing black leggings with a designer jacket and matching shoes but looked almost homeless and a long curly unkempt wig.

I was totally unaware of her problem and decided to research her on net to find out more about her.

I have the dvd of the Gospel and she is sooooo beautiful in that film. Ironically she played a preacher’s wife.

I really pray that she will find the strength and support to conquer her demons before it is too late.

Very sadly…it is Nona Gaye. I can’t be for sure she is the one in the blind item, but enough people said so that it seems credible. She is definitely battling a very bad drug addiction. I know that for sure. Also sadly, addiction runs through families a lot of the time. If you know Tatum O’Neal’s story, then you know what I mean.
No matter how much money her father’s estate is making if she’s on drugs, that can burn through any fortune. But when someone is on drugs this bad, the family will usually cut them off because they know the money is going for drugs. I hope someone is taking care of her son.

I disagree about the white press having field day with Nona. She isn’t very popular with either the black or white press. Have you seen much about her, ever? I remember when she sang at some BET function and everyone seemed confused. And, her role in The Matrix was originally Aaliyah’s role. She was in “Ali” too, so that could have been the popular 2004 or whatever movie they mentioned. But, I believe I saw her on an episode of Law & Order…I did see her on something.

It’s Kenya Moore (from Trois 1 with Gary D from CSI)…She was slated to play Wendy Williams but the deal fell through. Although she did appear on a few black television shows, she only appeared in guest roles, (i.e., near the end of season of four and a few episodes of season five on Girlfriends as Williams love interest Kiera), and if you think about it only black people really know who she is.

I did a little searching around, and of all the people mentioned Nona Gaye and Chico Debarge appear to be the most fitting candidates. Most of the other people mentioned have something going on for them with the exception of Lisa Nicole Carson and the two above. Lisa however; seems to have developed a problem with Schizophrenia while Nona Gaye (according to Wikipedia) has admitted to having a drug habit that was beaten and Chico has served jail time….this ties into the additional clue from post #74. Unless someone posts information (and there is nothing in the news on either person) that refutes this deduction I would say that Nona Gaye and Chico Debarge are the subjects of this Blind Item. Oh and the fact that the word never appeared in quotations is a big hint…Nona Gaye was slated to star in the Law and Order series but left when production was about to begin. So she “never” appeared in the series.
