I think Rihanna wanted that unevenness…the whole point is that the hair looks real. Otherwise, with that jet black color, you look like a vinyl head. Plus, I read the color can be unforgiving (blemishes, dark circles) so she probably wanted that tossled look to soften it up a bit. I think her hair looks nice, I can’t stand vinyl head.
As for Gayle, she does look like she’s always in someone’s face, patronizing them! It looks as if she’s reassuring Fantasia that she’s attractive.
