SAMATA ANGEL (PICTURED LEFT) & HER DESIGNS

Here at Concreteloop, we always like to introduce you all to up and coming talent – like young Ghanaian clothing designer Samata Angel.

Samata has made her own fashion label called Samata’s Muse, which will be featured in Nolcha Fashion Week in New York City this September. Angel is the first black British female designer to partake in such an event and her work has been already requested by celebrities, such as Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani.

  29. TheOriginalBlkBarbie

I like her designs…from the few things shown here it looks like she puts alot of care and creativity into the clothing that she designs. Best of luck to her and I hope to see more of her designs in the future!

Lol I would wear that green top…maybe add something to it or change it up a bit though so it wouldn’t be quite so bare…

  30. BOMBOHOLE

    LOL @ OKPO and KENYANPEEBLES,

I am from Trinidad. For the life of me I don’t understand the IGNORANT questions but one day some poeple asked my Granny & I how we got here..

    She answered:

Well, we was swingin’ on di trees in di jungle, ah call fuh ah conference with di Monkeys and ah ask if ah could leave. The tell meh OK. So ah pack muh bags and swing on di trees to get to the boat with di bananas! Then ah reach..

My Grandma is a HOT B*TCH!!! Their facial expressions were Priceless! And they always got that eagered look on their faces like they are getting some National Geographic knowledge.

I have been asked how I learned to speak and write English. Also an Hatian friend of mine was asked if they wore clothese in Haiti..

  31. Samata Angel is NOT a Ghanaian name. I guess she picked this for a show name?

  32. ALL THE GIRLS ARE BEAUTIFUL.. YOU ARE BASING HER BEAUTY ON EUROPEAN STANDARDS! I HAPPEN TO THINK THAT HIGH CHEEK BONES, THICK LIPS AND HIGH FOREHEADS ARE SEXY! STOP DEFINING BEAUTY! IT MEANS DIFFERENT THINGS FOR DIFFERENT PEOPLE.

PEOPLE PAYING TO LOOK LIKE THEM!!

  33. This is a public service announcement. The girl on the left IS Samata Muse.

  34. V.

Looks like she’s not using any ultra thin ladies. This is something good!

  35. mzsweetface

Good to see a sista doing her thang!

  36. ^^^
That comment was meant for all those who sais they like the shape “of the girl on the left.” She is Samata Angel, the topic of the post. SMDH

  37. QueenBee

They are ok…you can find them at Ross…Im sure she has some kinda talent but let me see something else

  38. Dimples♥

Wow! U go girl! let’s see what her voice is like annnd wot other designs she can come up with!

  39. Dimples♥

Yeah i agree her name don’t sound ghanian, ma ghanian fwends surname is achampong-bio compared 2 muse, but some african names can b short tho, mine Abah (naija gurl lol)

  40. Good to see a sister doing her thing. I hope she keeps getting a lot of love from celbs. Looks like House of Deron should hire her.

    kind

  41. PLAYER

AHH SHE’S GHANAIAN!! That’s what up!! REPRESENT! Gotta luv it and I support her all the way!

  42. PLAYER

lol I always get asked if I lived in TREES in Ghana. wtf? Lmao NO, I lived in a house that would be considered a mansion in the U.S. Hehe it’s all good though!

  43. douchebag mcgee

So all Africans don’t have pet lions and hyenas?

  44. @49 No…hyenas are not good pets rhey always end up eating your other pets so instead we keep rhinos. they’re so much fun

  45. they are very annoying. they laugh alot at night

  46. FineFutrDr

Personally, I’m just happy to aee ANYONE of color getting props in the fashion industry who isn’t somehow connected to the music biz.
    .
PS- An African American with roots in Ghana!

  47. douchebag mcgee

I would love to have a pet rhino. Definitely a black rhino, the most dangerous of them all. I would ride it and make it bite, horn or trample the people who pick on me.

  48. YoungSavage

    her body look so porportioned

  49. vee

As a ghanian woman I hope she makes her clothes for those with butts and hips because most Ghanians are VERY curvy

  50. #14, you must be retarded. everybody on here is congratulating the young woman and you are saying it would be better if she was nigerian. you guys just cant stop hating on other africans especially ghanaians. you need to get it together and congratulate. ppl like you need some serious help.

  51. wow i wanna model for her.. def gonna look her up!!

  52. Cute cute, but that top in the 1st pic on the right? eh.

  55. Leanace

lol @ #6 – me too girl, me too!

  56. Coffeecolor

Congratulations Samata….very seldom do you see a young black designer get stellar props. The fashion design business is so very tight knit, they do all sorts of outlandish things to sabotage the “newbie”. 1 garment considered not “in” and it’s lights out!..career is blemished forever!…The shirt is very nice for someone of the model’s figure…however i believe that you are truly a designer if you can appeal to the masses.Let’s be realistic tho, African American women range in all different shapes and sizes…and size 2? Adult?….that group is very small….she’s limiting her sales,oh please , by all means envision your designs on celebrities…that WAS the goal i’m sure.,but take lessons from the ole heads….Mizrahi designs for the runway, as well as Target! …would you rather see your designs on a few people?…or in stores throughout the world?….try not to have too many irons in the fire because something will go lacking. Good Luck!
