SAMATA ANGEL (PICTURED LEFT) & HER DESIGNS
Here at Concreteloop, we always like to introduce you all to up and coming talent – like young Ghanaian clothing designer Samata Angel.
Samata has made her own fashion label called Samata’s Muse, which will be featured in Nolcha Fashion Week in New York City this September. Angel is the first black British female designer to partake in such an event and her work has been already requested by celebrities, such as Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani.

Her other accomplishments include a recent nomination for ‘Exceptionally Creative’ at the British Female Inventors and Innovators Awards 2007. Other than fashion, she also has a talent in singing and will debut an album next year.

BIG UP CONCRETE LOOP for breaking Samata first. In London the girl is FYAH!!!! For real for real. Designs are supa hot, the girl is supa fine and music on the way. Can’t believe you guys picked up on her already tho’ Here she’s a brand all over the place – she’s about to blow for real.
Damn, Samata you should model your own clothes……Hell, you’ll look way better in them than that chickenhead on your right……Girl I could make you famous….
Does anyone eat anymore? Used to be a time when it was “goofy” to be too skinny.
I can agree with some of what Coffee is saying but not all – those models aint skinny at all! I check the site and they go from size 6 – 12 and I read an interview with her before where she said that because she is petite ~(size
she always wanted to cater to women of her shape (curves) and build as well as bigger. In London most starting designers only go up to size 12 or max 14 due to budget too as it costs more to do more sizes but I think having 4 sizes is a great start and from what I can see the label does bigger sizes if requested?
Big up Samata – well done!!!!!!!
thats whats up. u know GHANIANS do everything BETTER
LMAO at all the African comments
@ 34 –you’re granny sounds a hot mess! You know what’s funny is I’m full blood Nigerian, and I always get asked if I’m Jamaican/Carribean because of my parent’s accent, haha.
Lol, but I’ve learned to accept the comment misconstrued thoughts about Africans. If you’re not living in the jungle with monkeys and such, you’re either living in poverty with a village of AIDs infected people. Sad day we’re living in I tell ya.
I agree @ #8 n #62. Samata’s bananas!
I didn’t really know they had ‘em like that in London let alone Africa – n don’t call me ignorant – just bein’ honest.
Dem two chicks on top are the bisness.
awoyaa22.. If you can take a d**k, you can take a joke. Damn Ghanaian. Just playin.
Anyhow, West Africans have THE MOST RIDICULOUS BODIES
Ooh, nice stuff on her website! I’m definitely liking it.
BIG UPS to Samata!!! Its always nice to see us Black people doing good, especially those from the homeland. Though Im not from Ghana (NAIJA representing!!!)Ive gotta show much respect for the Ghanaian designers making a name for themselves (Samata, Oswald Boateng, Nana Boateng)….on another note, to all my Africans, have you seen Louis Vuitton ripping off the “Ghana Must Go” bags and showcasing it like its new in his fall line? Total rip-off
Samata’s clothes look so nice. I’m proud to see a minority fashion designer in such high demand. I wish her nothing but the best of luck. Her body is also on point too!
The shirt at the top with the open stomach is going to b a must have.
im sorry im skinny my self..but the models head looks awkwardly big..doesnt photoshop fix that kinda stuff? samata def needs to do some modeling..if she doesnt already..shes a triple quadruple threat!
thanks jeanette…to be honest with you i didn’t go to her site (i should have)…so now i give samata extra props for thinking of women that have a few more inches to deal with.
Glad to see a black girl doing it big in the fashion world. Get em girl!

I’ve been a fan of this girl FOREVER! Check out her myspace page and listen to her album (YES SHE IS A SINGER TOO!!!!). That song “it’s this love” is UNBELIEVABLE.
I am so proud of her. Go Samata. Stay positive and best of luck in all your endeavors!!!!
I know #6 her shape is bangin’! (as I put the doughnut away….)

Stop being ignorant #79 – it’s the same white girl in all the ads for this Muses range thing (not different ones) and the girl rocked the hell out of the stuff. Samata’s website is covered with a mix of models even oriental…stop being a hater!
Just saw your smilie…:-(
Sorry if i took you too seriously!
I’m African from Accra Ghana. Big ups to Samata! We Africans need to keep it real there is no African unity! Ghanians for Ghanians,Senegalese for Senegalese,Yoruba for Yoruba,Ashanti for Ashanti & thats the truth! I keep it real, the rest of yall faking!
I agree # 84 Im from Senegal and we have prejudices about all yall! Ask a Senegalese what a nyak is(people from Nigeria,Ghana etc. who eat monkeys) or a nyar is(people from Mauritania,Libya or N.Africa who are dirty & cheap). It is the truth STOP BEING FAKE WITH THIS AFRICAN UNITY S*@T. Check out Ami couture from Senegal!
Samata’s clothes are alright. Keep up the good work! #84 & 85 keep on keeping it real cause I feel the same way Ghana 4 Life!!!!
s
Big up to African everywhere British or American – wherther nigerian, ghanian, ugandan, liberian, congolese…. I dont care. Big up to our wonderful nation

She’s BEAUTIFUL.
SAMATA ! AMAZING AND CONGRATS !!!!!!!!
sorry #14 the comment was for #12′s ignorant self.
This girl is really going places!
Designer, Singer, Songwriter (& a Model if she wanted to be)! Is there no end to her talent?
Hey Samata ……………. YOU GO GIRL!
LG
So what’s the story with Pharrell?? Is he producing for her? Feeling her music – it’s fresh.
Love it! Look’s like this young lady has a very bright future ahead of herself.
I have bought one of these hooded dresses – I heard they fit really hot. Kinda pissed that this has come out – she was my own secret find
URGH!
Is Pharrell producing her album?
Her real last name isn’t actually Angel, Come ooonn people, shes GHANAIAN..get a clue. BlahBlah she’d be better if she was nigerian, Sista PUHLEEEASE! Nigerian/Ghanaian/ZULU who really cares.. we are all from the MOTHERLAND, show some love! Her designs are Fiyah I agree with those up top! There are hardly any black british woman, let alone black british/ghanaian women designing quality couture garments in the UK. Samata Angel is truly unique and I fully congratulate her on that! I mean Damn, not only is she stunning with a tidy lil figure, a music artist , a journalist AND an amazing person..she’s also reppin the UK stateside. JLO’s label wanted her to design for them..i mean wow. That’s what we call makin waves guurl!
I would snap up one of those dresses in a hot minute, especially the blue one
…and no disrespect to the big girls but to be perfectly honest Samata’s priority demographic is obviously gonna be smaller women..can u really see a size 16+ rockin the open front top at the top of the page?!…i for one would not wna see that maan!
Much love to Miss Angel! x
Haha ha. #99 you said it all! DAYUM!!!!!!!!!!
On another note – is Pharrell producing for her or not? I listened to her music, it’s tight however I think a producer like P would just elevate her to another level. He’s probably the only producer that could – the others are just losing the plot.
She kinda reminds me of Kelis’ first album (the one with I hate you so much….) except she is a better singer (maybe).
