Call me predictable, but I love her voice and the groove of this song does something for me. When the track drops, I can’t help but nod my head. Emily King’s voice has this sultry maturity to it that just gives me slight chills. The 21-year-old J Records recording artist releases her debut album today, East Side Story. ESS is an album which has been described as the experiences driven from her young life in the cultural melting pot that is the Manhattan Lower East Side. Emily’s music is a fusion of R&B, funk, jazz, pop and soul, and her voice just sounds immaculate over each of the album’s well-crafted songs.

I got wind of this song a few months ago, and it became one of my theme songs. It registers strongly with my life and how i feel stuggling through my 20′s. I love it! its addictive.

I’m loving “You & I.” It’s a very sweet, sincere song and her voice sounds very nice. “Walk In My” shoes is definitely hot too. I think I’mma have to pick this one up.

Yeah, I love her. I’ve been up on game about her for about six months now. I even had her single on my MySpace page. I saw her at the House of Blues in Anaheim a few weeks ago and she did her thing. I’ll be sure to pick up the album

i bought her album today off itunes and luv it, the orignal version of walk in my shoes had biggie on it and sounded a little better but it didn’t pass clearance and they took his sample off.

Not sure exactly what “barely Black” means but Emily’s mother is Italian and her father is Black. It doesn’t matter if she was purple she can actually sing and her album is hot!!!

I don’t wanna hear 1 black person say anything when the bet nominees for best r&b artist are Amy Winehouse, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Emily King, and the next white person who does a decent soul cut. Nobody notices that black artists are starting to be phased out? The industry along with mass media is working on killing hip-hop right now, and you’ll all ready know blacks dont buy r&b anymore. You’ll don’t find it crazy that all these acts have the material but none of their talent compares to all of the black artists who get thrown under the bus? I been up on emily king for months; she stopped by the vibe offices at the beginning of 07 to perform live for us. shes even better in person. ridiculously talented, plays guitar really really well. I love her.
