well heres my first post and ill make the statement of all the statements posted here. for the past 3 yrs ever since she married jason alexander for 55 hours and then married kevin federline, the press, people, the paperozzi, even her family have been on her case. it was these groups who were on her side since she broke into show biz at the young age. people idolized her. she was in the mold that everyone put her in. but when she recently, for the past 3-4 years got out of it, people were on her ass. people were on her for her weight, her hair and everything else that was out of form in her life for me personally, through the thick and thin, i knew she would be back. thats the sense i def got. in the back of my mind i was thinking that she was fucking with everyone. so knowing that she has a song back, i believe she is back. i think she just giving it to those haters.

I emailed CL and asked them to post this song b/c I thought it would get it big reaction. I do not know if my email prompted Brian to post the clip (I won’t flatter myself), but it looks like I was right. Britney’s comeback single did get an overwhelming response.

As far as whether it is appropriate for CL to post this…who basically created, continually reinvents and validates pop music? Black people. Since Britney is synonymous with all that is pop, it is not a stretch at all for her music to be on this site. Besides, nobody complained about her pictures and stories being posted when they were negative, so why can’t something of a positive, productive nature be poasted?

As for the song-it’s pure ear candy! Some people may not like her style of pop or singing, but music is in the ear of the beholder. Alot of people think she sounds good on this song, and I am among them. She’s no worse a vocalist than Gwen, Fergie, J. Lo or Rihanna. Some people say Christina’s voice is annoying. Some people say Beyonce’s voice is annoying. Even skilled crooners get criticized, so just b/c some people find Britney’s voice “annoying”, that in no way diminishes her overall talent.

If she tears it up at the VMAs-the pop game is gonna be a wrap! People might never have been infatuated with Britney b/c of her vocals, but alot of her appeal stems from her bar-raising performances. Her MTV gigs have helped redefine what it means to be a pop star-whether one thinks that is a good thing or not. Of all the young celebs, she is the one who is least likely to be forgotten b/c everything she does evokes strong emotions in people: love, disgust, envy, hatrad, obsession etc. Almost no one is completely indifferent to Britney Spears.
