Maybe it’s because Amerie has actually had some previous songs which showed a decent vocal ability, maybe people felt like she took a couple steps back with the music she does now.

I emailed CL and asked them to post this song b/c I thought it would get it big reaction. I do not know if my email prompted Brian to post the clip (I won’t flatter myself), but it looks like I was right. Britney’s comeback single did get an overwhelming response.

As far as whether it is appropriate for CL to post this…who basically created, continually reinvents and validates pop music? Black people. Since Britney is synonymous with all that is pop, it is not a stretch at all for her music to be on this site. Besides, nobody complained about her pictures and stories being posted when they were negative, so why can’t something of a positive, productive nature be poasted?

As for the song-it’s pure ear candy! Some people may not like her style of pop or singing, but music is in the ear of the beholder. Alot of people think she sounds good on this song, and I am among them. She’s no worse a vocalist than Gwen, Fergie, J. Lo or Rihanna. Some people say Christina’s voice is annoying. Some people say Beyonce’s voice is annoying. Even skilled crooners get criticized, so just b/c some people find Britney’s voice “annoying”, that in no way diminishes her overall talent.

If she tears it up at the VMAs-the pop game is gonna be a wrap! People might never have been infatuated with Britney b/c of her vocals, but alot of her appeal stems from her bar-raising performances. Her MTV gigs have helped redefine what it means to be a pop star-whether one thinks that is a good thing or not. Of all the young celebs, she is the one who is least likely to be forgotten b/c everything she does evokes strong emotions in people: love, disgust, envy, hatrad, obsession etc. Almost no one is completely indifferent to Britney Spears. In the words of Kanye West (somewhat) “Everybody feels a way about her… but at least they feel somethin’!”

I’ve read a lot of the comments on here, mostly haters, I don’t get that, We all know she aint the best singer, but I dont even listen to pop or that type of shyt but uhhhh this track is semi-hot and she is Britnay so be prepared to hear it every hour on the pop stations, She is primarily an album seller but, this sound like a no. 1 just because its her and her return. Nice song, great slinky beat and her vocals are not Mariah Carey’s or Beyonce’s so don’t expect her to come hollering. As for the reverse-racist mess about promoting black artists…i’m black and i don’t see why because CL is a black run site that they should post exclusively black music…since when does music have a color? I don’t know what the big deal is or why people gotta be haters. Britney was an icon for young teenage girls and that was her primary audience. She did great and although her songs may not have gone number 1 who cares, alot of people were still listening.
