Alicia Keys is finally back on the music scene with her new single, “No One.” Some of you may have heard the snippet earlier this week, but here is the full version. I want to give a big thanx to Natacha over at alicia-zone.net for providing us with the song. Make sure you check out her site.
In related news, Alicia went on TRL last week and said this about the song:
“The single is called ‘No One” and I’m LOVING IT!!! I hope it’s a bit unexpected and something that completely surrounds you, engulfs you and sweeps you away. I hope it makes you feel good and strong and passionate and makes you scream the words at the top of your lungs.”
Her 3rd studio album, As I Am will be in stores on November 13th and let’s just say after hearing this song, I am very excited! What’s your take, Hot or Not?

I love this track, it has so much emotion in it. It reminds me of Lauryn’s Hill “Loose Myself.” Good look for Alica though….

I have some mixed emotions about this song. I remember hearing how some thought she was strainging but I think she sounds like she singing real hard to hit them high notes. In others words, I had a hard time trying to understand what she was saying. I kind of like it but she could do better.

Is she serious? Her voice sounds HORRIBLE on this track. I’ve never thought she was a stellar vocalist, but she has managed to sound pleasant on many of her songs. This is just so unpleasant to my ears — especially the first verse where her voice sounds strained.
The music and production sound so simplistic and elementary as well — very noisy and not at all musical. I guess Alicia doesn’t know what to do without a sample running through her songs.

Don’t get me wrong – Alicia Keys is TALENTED and is very skilled at what she does. BUT her vocal ability is not up to par – - which of course her other talents (writing, composing..etc) makes up for. BUT good LORD I hate how this song sounds – - why is she singing it this way?? Was she going for the raw Bob Marley sound?? If so, she didn’t pull it off it doesn’t sound right at all – - I listened to it over and over and I’m not filling it – - I’m still going to cop the album I never miss out on a new alicia joint – -but the songs recordinng/vocal delivery quality is poor…

I liked it…I liked the reggae vibe behind the song…I definitely liked it better than what I am hearing now on the radio…plus it still sounded a little rough to me…so I need to hear a finished copy of it…but I think she is on to something…just in time for the fall romance…it gets a hot from me.
Well, after hearing the whole song, I think it is just ok… I expected more from her.I enjoyed it more yesterday…However I still got to give it to her since she is trying something new.

I agree w/ everyone that appreciates the uniqueness of this song and her voice. Not every vocal piece is supposed to be polished. Its great that she is channeling the old rock and roll days when black groups dominated that genre. You feel her, you hear the passion in her voice and it clearly comes from her soul. Branch out people..this is soooo refreshing!

no I’m not new…I just dont comment a lot. I’m just saying people hate it when artists switch thier sound up. There are Beyonce fans that think she can do no wrong and will cuss you out if you say otherwise (lol).
