Just because something is unique don’t make it refreshing….sometimes unique is fuckin up something that was good to begin with. Hell, sometimes unique is down right ugly. But i hear you, i get that you like the song. To me, her voice sounds as if she’s out of her range trying to sing it. Dont seem as if this song is for her at all.

yay last wear was my girl Christina now Alicia , hopefully Indie Arie later this year. I love the lyrics and the arrangement. I see she hooked up with Linda Perry , must be from Christina’s team since they’re label mate. This is definitely new sound for her. Linda Perry always will brings out different sounds to her new collaborators.

It’s alright. I’m sure there are better songs on the album. What gets me about her is that I can’t listen too much to her voice - there’s always something OFF about it. Like she can’t quite hit
most of her most of her voice or is just singing in the proper range.

Other than that, she’s one of the best artists out there.

I think in the song her voice has that raspy, raw sound reminiscent of Pink of her M!ssundaztood album and considering she is working with Linda Perry who worked with Pink on that album it is somewhat undestandable. I am not crazy about it but I think that in the generic marketplace that the music industry has become it is fresh and different. Kudos to Miss Keys for trying to be different!

Hmm, it had the potential to be hot…but it lacks backround or “ambiance”. To put it more clearly, it should have had more use of the instruments…or instruments should have been added. The break down was nice, but the rest needed a pick me up.

I’m not a big Alicia Keys fan, but I have really liked a few of her songs. I’m sure the production is suppose to be simplistic so that you can get a feel for her “emotion” and really listen to the lyrics. Alicia Keys is the only woman in popular music that makes a difference. The song is amazing, she is well on her way to becoming a Gladys, Aretha, Diana or Tina. I’ve been waiting soooo long for Alicia to come back on the scene, so glad to have her back. And I LOOOOVE the song, but it DOES sound like she may have had a cold when she recorded it. Hopefully, this was just the rough cut of the song, and by the time it hits the airwaves, it will be alot smoother. But the lyrics are awesome, the production is simple, and I’m just feeling the overall flow of this track. Can’t wait to cop this album.

The thing I like about Alicia and her songs is that there is so much emotion. When she sings you can FEEL it. Even if you haven’t experienced what she’s singing about you feel like you have. Having said that, I can feel the emotion and love in this song but I just don’t like the song. I thought she would have come back harder than this. I guess I was just expecting something different.
