Ok, I don’t know what’s different or unique about this song. Sounds like typical A. Keys to me not much different from anything else she’s ever done, but I guess it’s a more classic R n B sound than what’s out there now. As far as the song it’s not terrible but it’s not good either no comparison to her other lead single YDKMN and Fallin. Those are classics this is an album filler sorry Alicia but I know you got something better than this on that album that could be used for a first single. I don’t know what it is. Every year there is that one song that impacts you and makes you feel some sort of way. That song that overcomes you and you become infactuated with it, as if it were your lover. This song does it for me. I love Alicia Keys. What I love most about her is the way she is a chameleon. She blends into to a new sound effortlessly. Each album with her is a huge step for her, because they sound so different. I was eagerly anticipating for her next album and after hearing this song I’m begging for more. Good work A.Keys. IM LOVING IT!

As for the raspiness and what you all may call “straining her voice” it sounds like she lost her voice but it tells a story. Her voice, the lyrics of the song, the melody and harmony in the song all tell this one story about how she feels about this guy. If ya’ll actually listen ya’ll will see that this song is HOT!! She’s telling you how much she really loves this person and all her emotions and feelings are coming out as she sings it, which is what a music ARTIST does. This voice that you guys think is straining actually goes with the song and what it indicates to its audience (us). But only those who know real music will know that. All of you guys are brainwashed by the B.S. ya’ll hear on the radio and ya’ll don’t pay attention to the ones who are REAL, the ones who are sending you a message with their song.
