First - She does not sound as if she is straining her voice or attempting to “hit” notes that are not within her reach…she’s going for a different sound (What’s so difficult to understand?)

Second - Some of it I like, some of it I do not like. The part(s) that is/are least favorable are when you catch glimpses of the old (vocal) AK. Then she reverts (if you will) back to the new way she’s attempting to lay down this track.

Third - There definitely is an attempt to “channel” a reggae vibe!

Finally - Interesting track! I’ll wait until I hear the final version before saying whether or not I’m really feelin’ it. Should be an interesting release!

This song is one of the best (if not THE best) songs to come out this year. The lyrics are beautiful, as is her voice. It’s a little different to how she usually sings, but I think that’s what gives it that raw vibe - A lot of soul and reggae artists sing as if they’re ’straining’ their voice, but that’s the style they intend. I think Alicia K has done it excellently… It’s HOT! I hope it burns up the charts to number one…

It grew on me. I heard it last week and I was like no, no, no. But then I heard it again and again and again and now I am like yes, yes, yes. I thought she was straining too but then I really think she intentionally wants to sound like that. Sound like she is giving off a lot of emotion versus a songstress voice.

I LOVE THIS SONG! For those who dislike it, well to each his own of course, but I think this song shows her vocal range and power. The lyrics and emotion in the song consumed me and I do yell the chorus when I’m singing along! YOU GO ALICIA for bringing a familiar twist to the game of music and displaying your diverse talents!!! One of the posters stated it sounds like an anthem, that person meant it negatively, but they are right about it being an anthem–its an anthem for committment to a person or whatever your passion is.
