I think that Janelle Monae is great, I 1st heard her on the Got Purp? LP and have been waiting on her alblum to drop ever since. I was going crazy looking for her stuff on every website I could think of. Now that it’s out I can relax am wait on my boy Scar to show himself. Purple Ribbon is going to take over really soon and I can’t wait for the world to get onboard. By the way her music isn’t going to be for everyone but I don’t think anyone can deny regardless of what she sings about she has one of the most beautiful voices out right now.

it’s on some gnarles barkley stuff and i like it. i didn’t like everything on that gnarles barkely but “crazy” and some of the other tracks on that album more than made for some of the bad ones. i see where she’s going with it and i like it. we say we’re tired of beyonce (and yes i brought her name up, since she’s supposedly what’s wrong with music today) but when this girl attempts to bring something different to the table y’all won’t even give her a chance calling her a wannabe andre3000, well what’s wrong with a female andre3000? she can do the same stuff he’s doing but do it from a female perspective. again, i like this and would buy the album once i heard some more cuts from the album. i’m just now starting to buy cd’s again, and i refuse to buy an album i haven’t heard in it’s entirety, so keep posting her songs up brian so i can know all of what to expect. take care y’all.

Her vocals are definitely stronger than Kelis’ but the sound in general is the same. coming out with an Outkast beat is just as successful as a Neptune one. Janelle just hasn’t had as much advertising.

Actually I’m kinda diggin it too. The song makes a lot more sense when you take into account this is her interpretation of the movie “metropolis” which is about a cyborg that is hunted down and destroyed . There’s more to the movie of course but that’s a part of it.
