Lauren London and Cassie are the faces for the new women’s apparel over at Sean John clothing line, debuting in the Fall. Finally, Diddy is giving the ladies something right?
Sean John, the clothing line founded by Sean “Diddy” Combs, will debut its new women’s collection for Holiday 2007 with a production partner, G-III Apparel Group. The new Sean John Women’s line is a juniors, urban collection with a contemporary edge. While focusing on denim pieces such as jeans, dresses and outerwear, the collection also includes colorful velour track suits, graphic tees, and flirty tops among other items. The price range for the products will be $59-89 for denim, knit tops from $44-59, tee shirts from $34-44, outerwear from $99-299, and active wear from $49-89. The initial collection for holiday will be sold in the Sean John Flagship store on Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, Dillard’s, Dr. Jay’s, Man Alive and other retailers nationwide.
The collection will launch with the support of a dynamic advertising campaign photographed by Warwick Saint and featuring Bad Boy recording artist, Cassie, the newest addition to the Pussy Cat Dolls, Asia, and burgeoning actress Lauren London.

#176-178 why most black girls be MIXED to be attractive? This is the mentality I get sick of in the States. There are some attractive mixed females but there are some ugly ones as well. Brazilian girls are NOT easy lays. Most are not involved in sex works. My comments are primarily directed to those lightskinned, multiracial American women who feel that just BECAUSE they are mixed they ought to get a free pass into the Miss Universe contest. These are the women I’m addressing. Those who AUTOMATICALLY assume that EVERY darkskinned/nonmixed female is hating on them and they are so vain and caught up into themselves. On the whole Brazilians are MUCH more attractive than Americans and many have that inner beauty as well. I believe that beauty comes in all colors not just light, bright and damn near white!
#179 why should Brazilians consider Cassie attractive? Just because she is mixed? Brazilians come in every conceivable racial mixture you don’t get a fress pass to the Miss World contest just because you are mixed. That is that American thinking again – that being MIXED means being beautiful. I live in California where there are a lot of biracial people and they are no different than any other group – some pretty, most average and some ugly. Being mixed doesn’t automotically mean a person is beautiful. Cassie would be just another woman in a country like Brazil full of beautiful drop dead gorgeous people and wouldn’t rate a second glance like she does in the states.
#183 there are more Brazilian dimepieces than American – far more. Americans are just too damn arrogant especially those of mixed heritage and they need to be brought down a few thousand pegs. I am tired of the attitude in the States that ONLY mixed people are attractive and that EVERY mixed race person is a dime. I live in California, there is a sizeable mixed population and most of them are average looking, some are ugly and a few are dimes – just like any other group of people and no – not all unmixed black women are full of self hatred and wishing they had long silky hair and green eyes. Hello! There are unmixed people and Africans who are beautiful too. Being biracial doesn’t give you a free pass to a beauty contest cuz I know some butt ugly biracials. Stop acting like being mixed is a badge of honor. It is the NORM in a lot of Brazilian cities. Nothing to toot your horn about.
Also in regards to #177 I am ONLY repeating what my male friends who visit me when I am in Brazil say when they are here, their comments and many compliments about the beauty of the women. I love Brazil, it is my second home, the beauty and passion of the people, the love and the laughter. That said, I am not glorifying Brazil or Brazilian society and it’s racism/sexism. However, the Brazilians take things intheir stride, live and let live and are not TOTALLY obsessed with race and color although you do have that element of Afro-Brazilians who will speak highly of their “Spanish, Italian, French, Indian” blood but I do not notice Brazilians constantly bragging about their racial mixture like I do many Americans or mixed race background as if its a status symbol.
Even though I am an American, I find most Americans to be too arrogant and too full of themselves in comparison to gorgeous Brazilians who are not so stuck on themselves.

Read a book, before you start being on some “beautiful latina” better than everybody else shit. Didnt your family teach you to love all shades, colors, and ethnicities…? As far as their poses are concerned, I think it’s exactly what Diddy was going for-Sweet (Cassey) ‘N Sassy (Lauren). Every woman has at least those two sides and I guess he was just trying to appeal to whatever side you most gravitate to.
On the light skin/dark skin thing, Asia (from The Search For The Next Pussycat Doll-she won) is very dark skin. She was supposed to be in the ads too. Asia recently dropped out of PCD to go solo, so I’m not sure if this affected her being in his ads or not.
Sean John Women’s is supposed to have a contemporary edge so I’m sure not all his women’s clothes will be track suits. I did go online looking for some of his clothing and I found some denim. It must have been from his soft launch in Spring. If this is ANY indication of what his denim will look like this holiday, then I’ll be the first in line!!! I haven’t seen denim that wicked in a long time.

Lauren london, cassie and asia are a good look. this was not one of cassie’s best photos…it was actually the worse shot…and it still ain’t even that bad…but if you look on youtube… on the badboy channel…puff has a commercial for this campaign and cassie freakin kills it. see for yourself. it’ll leave you saying ..”damn, she should just do modeling”. Lauren is a monster. she just naturally has it… however she just needs to learn more of her angles. as for asia, she seemed scared and shy at the photoshoot. open up and just do it.

Both girls are beautiful and I have no problem with their color since I am lightskinned myself, lol. But I understand what people are saying about that. Diddy needs to represent the diversity of the black community and he is not doing that by putting two lightskinned girls to represent the line. BUT, Asia from the pussycat dolls is supposed to be in there also and she’s darkskinned and beautiful. I dont know why she’s not in that pic or in a lot of the stuff for the line… maybe she was added after?
