After Lil’ Mo gave birth to her baby girl, Goddis Love, we didn’t hear much from her. Her last album, 2003′s Girl Next Door, was a good follow-up to her debut that everyone had been waiting for, after hearing her all over Ja Rule and Missy tracks. The self-proclaimed “God Mother of Hip Hop and Soul” is back with a brand new album, Pain & Paper, which is a blend of hip hop and soul that some say is Mo’s best work to date. She has a features from Fabolous (who always seems to make nice collabs with), Jim Jones, Da Brat and Trina.

I cut for her a lot when she’s singing hooks but her entire albums sound like one big long song to me after about the first 3 songs… Ain’t mad at her swagger tho’… GO MO’…

Godmother of Hip Hop Soul? lol…..I’m glad that is self proclaimed. She has a voice on her, but has been unable to move me enough to by her albums. I will check for the full review once someone has it.

No shade…..because I love Mo and have the first two albums and ran them to death but theses first two tracks are not HOTTT. Having a cute track these days does much of nothing. As long as she has been gone, she should have came back with pure FIRE. I am going to get the album but if its wack. I will shelve it so quickly and dare not mention that I bought it. She better stop playin.

Anyway, I LOVE me some Lil’ Mo. Go head girl. She’s been away for a while, but I’m glad that she’s coming back.
This album is horrible. Probably one of the worst I’ve heard.
There’s nothing wrong with tatoos when they are done right…..
But damn it looks like someone attacked her arm with a sharpie.
That picture looks ridiculous. I like her voice *shrugs* 1st Time is probably my favourite song of hers.
She has a nice voice. I’m diggin those tracks. Hey, Brian does she have any plans of releasing any of those songs as singles?

LIL MO’ is making a “come back”. This girl can sing!! I like the “sEXY PICTURES” song better than the first one. I hope she is successful with this “come back”. She is a very talented woman.
I am so glad she is finally releasing another CD. She has a great voice and a lot of people slept on her last CD. I will be buying this tomorrow.
I love Mo, I will admit her first album sucked but me the girl next door stayed in my cd player all summer of 03′.

Am I the only one who noticed that her album drops tomorrow? Does she have any promotion or PR??????? Artists are set for failure when they have no promotion? Does she even have a video out? Are her songs being played on the radio??? Honestly, they need to step their PR game up if she’s tryna push any units.

I usually like Mo because she has a good voice, but these songs sound very low budget. I say that because the writing is “okay” at best and the vocal production is terrible. It took me a few listens just to figure out where the verses end and the chorus begins. The vocals are produced and arranged like rap vocals instead of singing vocals. It’s definitely a lot different than when she was on a major label since she’s independent now (that’s probably why there is a lack of buzz). Oh well. Maybe the album will be fire, but I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to make a decision.
