Aight dats_da_truth….I’ll concede that Eddie has a right to question the paternity of the child. After all, only Eddie, Melanie and God know what really went down in that situation. Eddie may have had a valid reason to question the child’s paternity and that is certainly his right. Also, considering his position in life, he deserves the assurance that he isn’t being duped into taking care of child that doesn’t belong to him. Let it be known that I think that it’s vile and reprehensible for a woman to manipulate a man like that.
HOWEVER, the circumstances under which the baby was conceived are now irrelevant. The baby has been born and it has been established that Eddie fathered her. Melanie may have slept with half the city or Eddie may have promised her he was gonna marry her…we just don’t know and it really makes no difference now. The child is here and she needs her mother AND FATHER to step the fuck up. And that is where my main issue lies. With the fact that, despite having been proven the father of the baby, Eddie has not stepped up to acknowledge and take responsibility for his child. There is no argument that can even attempt justify that.
