i respect people’s opinions, but one’s opinion does not have to dog an entire people to make their point. If I like white men, I wouldn’t say, “I like white men because black men are gang bangers”. That isn’t an accurate portrait of all black men so my judgment would be bias and limiting to my race. He needs to get it together. He probably can’t handle a black woman. When you say, the man, are you talking about a successful black man? The most important thing is exposure, not so much riches. It’s through exposure that the doctrines that the powers that be want to get adopted, get adopted. This is why so many of these “hip hop stars” get so heavily publicized but have no money. If a good black man is rich though, it’s good that he marries a good black woman and builds up his family in the stable home that his money can provide. I notice that some black and hispanic women try to advertise themselves in the way that you alluded to with the half-covered ass and all that. I am in no way professing to be an Bible expert but I know what I know and the Bible says “Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Having quoted that, I really believe that the standard (from Biblical standpoint) has not been met or isn’t being met, mostly by the men who say they need a woman to “be in her place.” From a woman’s perspective, how can a man lead when he allows himself to be led the wrong way? How can he carry my house when his own house — before I have even entered it — wasn’t intact? If a man says he wants a good Christian woman, is he himself being a good Christian? If a man claims to love and respect God, is he being respectful of God by disrepecting women, God’s creation? What examples does he set for a woman to follow if he looks to be taken seriously? These are all questions that a REAL woman who is serious about committing and submitting to a REAL man SHOULD ask herself before she even goes there.

Black men can blame a lot of things on society: the white man, slavery, etc… and rightfully so. But at what point do Black men stop talking and start doing? I can’t stand to be around brothers who are always claiming that the white man is holding them down, yet they never try to get up! This is the plight that women face with submission. You cannot allow someone to teach you, lead you, protect you, provide for you, sustain you and carry you when they can’t and haven’t even done it for themselves or someone else.

Personally, I’ve been fortunate enough to know men (platonic or otherwise) that I would submit to 100 times over. And this all goes to the company I keep. If a woman truly wants a good man, she has to quit picking from a barrel of losers. She also has to have a real conversation with herself about whether or not she is capable of handling a REAL man.
