Before I go any further, I am also a African female, born in the Carribean. I have also traveled to other countries and I am very open minded about cultures, morals and social structure of the family unit. I personally do not agree with Polow Da Don comments. The only thing I give him credit for is the fact that he brought up the Willie Lynch syndrome. I think he did not help his situation with generalizing women based on his personal experience. I believe he should study the African and European culture before making anymore statements. In my past, based on my personal experience, I too was ignorant (at a young age of 13 and 14), for example when I grew up in America I would categorize African American as being lazy and not valuing the access to public education. I did come to realize that the environment that some African Americans are put in are some of the contributions that lead to failure. The key to overcome some of the obstacles of todays society is education. I have come across a lot of African American people that have made successes in life and have come back to their childhood communities to help others achieve their goals. I am one of the examples that had a mentor in life that told me that I’m missing the world. But back to the subject matter, before putting down other people (race, sexism) please acknowledge that you need to review the situation with more elaborate details because your sending mixed messages that are only fueling the situation. I know and understand what Polow Da Don is trying to say but its the way he elaborates on the subject. Please do not put down other people(race, sexism) to get your point ahead.
