I actually went to see Lauryn in Brooklyn, and watched her “fans” leave before she could even finish her first song…talk about disrespectful. I mean, it’s LAURYN HILL, giving a FREE concert in Brooklyn, and people had the nerve to treat her like she was a bum on train singing for spare change. If people wanted hear her sing “Miseducation” songs in the same manner that they’ve always heard them, then they should have skipped the long trip, stayed home, and let their CDs do the singing. How can we expect our artists to grow by keeping them in a COMMERCIAL BOX?? It’s sad when we as a people can’t even support some of our most profoundly lyrical artists. Instead, we make comments about trivial nonsense: how they don’t LOOK like everyone else, DRESS like everyone else, and don’t say the same REDUNDANT dribble in interviews like everyone else. Bandwagon fans are the worst- the ones that in a year’s time, will be all on Lauryn’s jock when her album drops and she quiets all the haters.

Oh, one more thing: a special thanks to all you “fans” that left the concert before Ms. Hill REALLY did her thing…the seats on the front row were FANTASTIC!!

I am new to the site, so tell me if I’m doin something wrong here… I saw Lauryn in Brooklyn and the show what great. If you go into the experience expecting Mis-ed Lauryn then you would have been disappointed, if you go in expecting unplugged Lauryn, you would have been mad too. What she is doin essentially, is creating a new fanbase for herself. She did a lot of old stuff but with a new twist. She did some Marley stuff too, and although her voice was strained a little, she still had her vocals. She was fun and energetic, and appeared to be nice. Her style is more rock/reggea/soul… really different from before, and a lot of ppl were not feelin it, and they left… but I had fun and plenty of ppl stayed and had fun too… I would hate for someone to be snappin pics at me at a party or concert, especially if I’m in to what I’m doin
