Terrance and Rocsi are too damn corny for their own good…originally, the debate thing was Rocsi’s idea, a way for the 2 artists to talk about life, the state of hip hop etc. What a dumb idea, considering the fact that both would rather want to promote their albums in more fun ways, plus the target audience of 106 would not really care much about the debate thing. If both artists are smart, they will use this same day release thing as a way to boost sales, because i havent been able to think of any other day where 2 of the biggest hiphop stars of our time have put out big, highly anticipated cds on the same day. Both cds will be good, but i think kanye will take the #1 spot, just cuz i think ppl are done with 50.

On a side note, why is it that everybody always hates the hosts of 106, always wanting replacements, but then when we do get replacements, we hate them even more? AJ & Free brought that show from nothing to something, and no one will ever have that dynamic and bring it to the show quite like they did. Tigger and Julissa were good, altho Jullissa always looked so stiff and nervous, like she’d never seen cameras b4, but Rocsi and Terrance are too much. At first, i liked them because Rocsi is eye candy and Terrance seemed funny…but now, it’s like they just seem to try too hard. Terrance always does these stupid little dances, which makes me think he doesn’t know quite how wack he is, and Rocsi comes off as a groupie to me.

That album created so much positivity in the music industry that females like Sheryl Crow wanted to work with Lauryn. I mean Lauryn impowered a lot of women especially at a time when you had female’s on records talking about S*cking & F*cking for cash. I thought a real movement was about to start with women in the music industry. Then something switched in her head and rumors of her walking the streets of Jersey quoting scripture, wanting people to call her Ms. Hill at all times and now this……It was funny at first and now it is truly just sad. And I do feel that Wyclef played a part in her downfall….I think he took advantage of her when they were dealing with each other knowing he was married, then wanted to hate on her album when he realized a lot of the material was about him, but I also think that fame got to her in a negative way. It seems like the Lord has put a spirit on Lauryn Hill. I don’t know what kind of spirit it is but she definitely has one. All the signs are there: independent thought, independent dress, monologues that are unintelligible to the average person. I’m not sure if it’s a demon. It’ll take more investigation because time reveals all things. Just keep in mind that the Lord had Ezekiel eat feces in front of people (Ezek 4:9-17), He had John the Baptist walk around looking disheveled with camel-skin, eating locusts (Matt 3:4). Paul was accused of insanity (Acts 26:24,25). It is what it is.

My point being that when a person deals with the Lord at a high level, they will alienate themselves from the sensibilities of 99% of people (Psa 69:7-12). She may be in the midst of a spirituaI transition so it’s not my place to appraise her conduct, until further notice. I don’t know what Lauryn Hill’s spiritual beliefs are, but I know that she has a phenomenal intellect. She got me crossed up with the makeup, but I don’t see anything wrong with how she’s dressed. Even if she was walking the streets with those clothes on sis, people that are dealing with things spiritually will do things that make themselves appear strange because the Lord or Satan is pulling them from the rest of the people. Her clothes are strange to the layman, but believe it or not, some of her attire is reminiscent of how we used to dress. If people wanted hear her sing “Miseducation” songs in the same manner that they’ve always heard them, then they should have skipped the long trip, stayed home, and let their CDs do the singing. How can we expect our artists to grow by keeping them in a COMMERCIAL BOX?? It’s sad when we as a people can’t even support some of our most profoundly lyrical artists. Instead, we make comments about trivial nonsense: how they don’t LOOK like everyone else, DRESS like everyone else, and don’t say the same REDUNDANT dribble in interviews like everyone else. I am new to the site, so tell me if I’m doin something wrong here… I saw Lauryn in Brooklyn and the show what great. If you go into the experience expecting Mis-ed Lauryn then you would have been disappointed, if you go in expecting unplugged Lauryn, you would have been mad too. What she is doin essentially, is creating a new fanbase for herself. She did a lot of old stuff but with a new twist. She did some Marley stuff too, and although her voice was strained a little, she still had her vocals. She was fun and energetic, and appeared to be nice. Her style is more rock/reggea/soul… really different from before, and a lot of ppl were not feelin it, and they left… but I had fun and plenty of ppl stayed and had fun too… I would hate for someone to be snappin pics at me at a party or concert, especially if I’m in to what I’m doin
