The fight in the early hours of yesterday left 23-year-old Miss Winehouse with blood staining her pink ballet shoes and the knees of her jeans. Purple bruises could be seen on the side of her neck and her knuckles were swollen.
But her 24-year-old husband appeared to have come off a lot worse – with cuts and scratches on both cheeks and around his neck.
Before the big fight, the singer had made a solo trip out of the hotel at 11pm, walking a few yards down the road to meet and hug a girl in her 20s before returning alone.
An eyewitness said it appeared the girl handed over some kind of small package to Miss Winehouse as they hugged. [SOURCE]

About 4 a.m., they fought in the parking lot until a hotel bellman pulled Weeks off, Officer Ronald Campbell said. “She was bruised up and battered,” Campbell said. “She had purple bruising around her neck and upper torso.”
Word is she has pressed charges and the police have arrested Weeks this morning.

Well time for my two cents (for anyone who cares).:
I remember reading one of her books and she was giving her spill on dating and marriage. And she was basically saying by a certain date (I cant remember which date, and I dont wont to make something up, but I think it was like by the 5th date or something) marriage should be in the near future. Now, I know what she was getting at. She’s saying that believers shouldn’t wait too long to marry, lest they fall into fornication. And I get that. I also get the fact that some people meet, date, and marry VERY soon and stay together forever. But at the same time, this is the real world, and you have got to get to know people. We know the Lord ain’t down with fornication but His Word says that God HATES divorce. So, IMO it’s best to take your time (within reason), and try to abstain as much as possible, but give yourself enough time to make a solid decision on who you are joining yourself with for life.
So, Im not saying that’s what happened with her and her hubby because I dont keep up with them, but maybe it would’nt have hurt to hold off a little while. But I really am trippin off her hubby. I do not in any way condone men beating women, but real talk, things happen, and someone may get grabbed or tussled every now and then. But for him to throw her down to the ground and kick her like a man on the street is just to much for me. I mean I know even though he’s a man of God, he’s still human. But there was nothing humane about that, believer or not.

Once I was helping a friend out who had family visiting and I gave them a ride to see another family member and they were talking about their church which is one of those big churches out here and they were talking about how their pastor just bought a $80000.00 Hummer and they were just going on and on about their church. Then when we dropped them off they ask to borrow some money because the husband lost his job and they didn’t have any food in their house. So you mean to tell me the pastor is driving around in a Hummer and they have church members with no food in their home? Something just ain’t right. I believe this is where most women make their mistakes, there is nothing wrong with wanting to be married but most women either feel pressure or feel incomplete without a man. Women need to be patient and trust that God knows when we are ready. Women need to realize that there is nothing wrong with being single, you can’t be happy with a husband if you are not happy with yourself. That desperation will cause you to overlook the signs.

Though I can completely relate to what you’re saying and why you feel the way you do, I was wondering have you ever thought about attending a small church who is into soul saving and not in financial business?
Mega churches can be overwhelming sometimes because it seems like everyone is putting on a show but sweetie children out of wed lock, to sex before marriage, drugs, violence is everywhere. It’s a part of life. You should not allow others ignorance and mistakes to keep you away praising God.
I had the same attitude like you about not going to church. And I’ve never been a member of a large church either; it was medium church about 150 members…full of drama and unnecessary conduct. I stop going for three years. But I realized that I don’t go to church for other people, I go to church for God because he is pleases him that I attended and to also hear something that would make me a better person.
I’m not saying you are wrong (trust me, I can relate) and if I offended you in anyway I do apologize. I am just asking you possibly consider visiting a few churches. You never know…you might just enjoy the service, the people and have the same beliefs. (smile)
The problem is we ALL have this idea of how people are suppose to act and behave if they’re “saved or famous” and we are disappointed adn quick to judge when they mess up. But the truth of the matter is we all fall short and make mistakes. I just hope and pray that we all have patience and understanding for one another. I can’t look down on one because I don’t have a heaven or a hell to put someone in. Plus I am far from perfect myself. We all talk about what we would do if we were in their shoes but you never know what you may do in a situation until you’ve experienced it. I just hope we are all learning this situation and pray that Amy, Juanita and their husbands make better choices and decisions in the future.

I can’t really get down on dogging the mega churches because the pastors can’t MAKE anyone join. They do so on their own. They all start small. What pastor is going to turn down people once they get a certain amount of members? I agree that a lof of these famous pastors are all about the dough but these members shouldn’t be paying their grocery, or prescription medicine money to these people. I’m sure God doesn’t want us to starve or take sick while our pastors are driving in Maybachs and Bentleys. That just isn’t sensible.
